Who's going to be at the game in Omaha on Wednesday?

I'm planning on it!

Now if you could just tell us how to sync the radio/audio feed to the video!  (or maybe speak a little slower, wink, wink!)

I suspect that the audio broadcast via the internet has a built in delay

Any idea why Hammond didn't start?

Thought he might be hurt, but he got some decent minutes.

Coach said he wanted to mix it up a little, thought Morrow might defend the low post better.  He admits it didn't turn out that way, hence no Morrow in 2nd half.

I thought it was odd that Jacobson went in before Hammond. Perhaps Hammond was in the doghouse about something.

Postgame Notes
*-Andrew White III finished with a career-high 30 points, eclipsing his previous high of 20 points against Delaware State. White’s 30 points is the most by a Husker player since Terran Petteway had 32 against Michigan State on Jan. 24, 2015. White also established career bests in rebounds (seven) and steals (four).
*-Nebraska’s 12 steals was a season high (11 vs. Mississippi Valley State).

*-Today marks the second time this season that NU had two players with 20+ points, as Shavon Shields finished with 21 points. Shields averaged 24.5 points in NU’s two games this week.
*-Nebraska had season highs in free throws made (27) and attempts (36)

Nebraska Coach Tim Miles

On the play of Andrew White III and Shavon Shields

“You’ve got to score to win, and I’m not pleased with anybody’s defense. I think you have to credit Abilene Christian. I think they ran their stuff with some crispness. They hit some tough shots early. Once a team gains confidence, it’s on, and that’s what we allowed them to do in the first half. I think they shot 33 percent from 3, 47 percent from the field in the first half and our season average is, like, 38 or 39 percent from the field and 29 (percent) from 3. Once you open that door, anything could happen.”

On the team’s play defensively

“(Abilene Christian) shot 47 percent and I don’t like that. 33 percent from 3, that’s like 50 percent from the field. They were probably about 52 or 53 percent effective field goal percentage, so when they did get one up there, they hurt us. They had points in the paint, they got 26 points in the paint, way too many. Our post defense, we were jumping at every fake. We decided not to double to test them and we didn’t pass that test.”

On what caused the slow start

“I think it’s always (mental as much as physical). There’s a certain amount of drain from the Miami game. I was drained for a couple days, there was no doubt. We did not practice well two days ago. We were better yesterday. I thought our shootaround was OK, fairly sharp. We just were never there, but that doesn’t take anything away from Abilene Christian. I thought they played a pretty good game. We saw them on tape do the same thing to Colorado State at CSU, where they ran them around in circles and lost in double overtime. They looked the same, really sharp and knocking down shots. I’ve been through that transition (from Division II to Division I), it’s not easy. These are Super Bowl games, so there’s no doubt we had a good shot from Abilene today. I just look forward to getting in and watching the film with the guys, learning from this, and trying to put the lessons into play against Creighton on Wednesday.”

On Andrew White III’s aggressiveness

“Almost every time Andrew shoots, I think it’s going in. I’m pretty easy to please. If you make shots, I’m happy. He had the total green light. He always does. One of the things is, he’ll come into a game sometimes and just kind of survey the whole deal instead of taking charge. He’s got enough talent to take charge, but I think the biggest part was, if you saw, he had big steals again, like he ended the Miami game, all day he had four steals this game and it seemed like they all mostly led to transition, and once he gets transition, then he’s able to get to the foul line and he’s going to make some 3s on you. I didn’t play Jack McVeigh much, so that really hurt us in terms of the 3-point shooting. We just weren’t looking for it because we were getting fouled, we were getting to the line, we were getting to the rim, so we just kind of stayed on the attack.”

Nebraska Guard Andrew White III

On this being a trap game

“It wasn’t a trap game mentally at all, our coaches were really hard on us going into this game and our who strategy for this game was to use this one to prepare for the next two. At a certain point it’s not so much about the scouting report or something like that, it’s about just getting your team to play as well as possible. I think guys were awake just based on how we prepared for this and it was just one of those games that we came out a little slow, and they have confidence, but we didn’t sleep on this team at all. As a matter of fact our coaches were really hard on us going into this game just trying to make sure that we were alert and preparing for this next stretch of games we have.”

On coming out slow

“They were really well coached, so I think that when you have a team that is running that stuff correctly you get a couple shots, they go in and there is your momentum. I think it was partially on us, but you have to give them credit for what they did also.”

ABILENE CHRISTIAN HEAD COACH JOE GOLDING

General thoughts on the game

“I thought our guys played well. We were able to get some stops in the first half, but we let them get to the free throw line too much in the second half. (Shavon) Shields is a great player, and they have more size than we could put out there. We have to do a better job of guarding without fouling. We turned the ball over too much (20 turnovers), but I thought our guys competed for 40 minutes. I’m very proud of the way this team came on the road and competed for 40 minutes against a solid Big Ten team. Our team is growing up and I believe it will show down the road.”

On staying in the game despite 20 turnovers and allowing 36 free throws:

“I think that goes back to us competing on the defensive end. We didn’t do it against New Hampshire and we challenged our guys (Friday night) to compete on the defensive end against Nebraska. We didn’t spend much time on Nebraska; we locked in ourselves and tried to get better defensively. We were better defensively (Saturday). Nebraska didn’t get many easy shots. (Andrew) White got loose on us in the second half, but it’s tough because Shields is such a tough guard and you can’t double them both.”

On net letting the game get away:

“We kept answering, and that’s important when you go on the road. We did a good job controlling the pace and keeping the crowd out of it. Every time they started to get into it we hit a shot and that’s important. We’ve got a bunch of guys who have never played in an arena like this, and I was proud of the way we kept fighting.

On Duran Porter’s play:

“He gives us a chance because if we can score it inside it really helps. Easy buckets just deflate a team when you can get inside and make easy shots. Duran has been playing at a high level, and if he can give us that in (Southland) conference play we’ve got a chance to do some good things.”

Also Pete Gillen who sounds exacly like Danny Nee.

Oh God that's right, the game is on CBS Sports Network.

Gillen is about the most un-listen-to-able color guy there is.

Thanks, I'm sure you're right.  I don't have over-the-air radio so both my audio & video are internet feeds.  In my case the audio is usually ahead of the video by 20-30 seconds (in some instances as much as a couple of minutes).   It sure would be nice to get them in better sync as Kent and Matt, in addition to being 'homies,' are so much more excitable and fun to listen to than the video announcers.

I could dvr the game for later watching and match it up with Husker.com audio archives (or pause the dvr during live games until they matched), but that wouldn't work for games that are streamed instead of TV.
