Don't think Allie will start.  As stated in a previous post by someone, consistency continues to be a problem as it was last year.  She has improved but competition is fierce.

When Ostrander arrives it could get even more complicated to sort out the post position. Anxious to see how quickly she can get up to speed. It'll be tough to catch up.

I believe Havers has some skills but just gets manhandled inside by stronger players.  She has never developed physically like I hoped she would.  Also, I wonder if Kalenta is just getting time early and if she will disappear once the season begins in earnest.

My wife hates me talking about Rachel 43 too much.  I'm just trying to let Husker WBB fans know the type of player she is...  None of us know how she'll be as a player for the Huskers.  The first signs are good.  I know you're getting a tough kid who is a good teammate.

Regarding toughness...  43 took an elbow to the lip (see jpg) at practice on Friday.  During the game my wife saw Rachel 43 continually wiping her lip and then wiping her knee brace.  After the game 43 told my wife that 43's lip was bleeding.  43 didn't want blood on her jersey because the refs would make her leave the game; therefore, she wiped the blood on her knee brace.

I have to stop now... my wife gets upset.

I would like to be a mouse in the corner of the coaches strategy planning room when they are sitting around discussing all the options they now have before them for the upcoming regular season.  Never seen Yori so excited.  I think she has a good handle on what it will take to to now be a proverbial top ten program versus a top 25 program as in the past.

Does Blackburn have the physical strength to match up with B1G Post players? I really like what I am hearing about her.

She may not have the strength her freshman year but she has the body to build that strength

Just a guess but Jess will draw the other teams strongest post as well as some double teams which should open up some shots for the other forward as well as the guards.  Rachel seams tough, determined and smart and I'm sure she will be dedicated in the weight room.

The exciting high school prospects of spring have turned into the unknown freshman of the fall. Now, we get our first glimpses of the young ladies that represent the future of their schools. Of course, we won't know if they're going to be good from an exhibition game, or a regular season game, or possibly even their freshman year. So, with all the usual caveats about the small sample size and the non-existent competition, let's check out the very first stat lines of three 5-Star recruits.

Jessica Shepard is not only a bruising post player, but something of a hometown hero, hailing as she does from Fremont, Nebraska, which is just an hour drive from Lincoln and the University of Nebraska which she now attends. Dan Olson of ESPN's Hoop Gurlz had her as the number three high school player in the country.

She's big even for her listed height of 6'4", with the kind of build that will allow her to muscle just about anybody off the block. Dan Olson called her a "double double producer", praised her "back to basket game with accomplished footwork" and called her "the elite interior prospect of the 2015 class."

All of that was on display in the Cornhuskers' November 1st exhibition game against the University of Nebraska - Kearney. Shepard was the best player on the court, and one of her teammates - Rachel Theriot - will probably be playing in the WNBA next summer. Shepard had 29 points and 12 rebounds, including eleven points in the first quarter.

All this really means is that the UNK Lopers didn't have a center big enough to bang with Shepard. If she can put up those kinds of numbers in March, then Nebraska will be one of the most dangerous teams in the NCAA.
