Will Lindsey Moore, Jordon Hooper or Emily Cady have their jersey number retired? Jordon has the best chance of having her jersey retired and I believe she earned this honor. She was a Wade finalist her senior year and a three time All American. Jordon finished her career as the second all time Husker leader in scoring and rebounds. A strong case could be made for Lindsey. She was an one time All American and a two time Nancy Lieberman Award Finalist as a nation's top point guard. Lindsey finish her Husker career has the all time leader in assists, games started and minutes played. Emily did not earn national award recognition but she had a great career at Nebraska. She finished her career as the number 2 all time leading rebounder. She is also the only Husker in Nebraska history with 1,400 points, 1,000 rebounds, 300 assists, 100 steals and 100 career blocks. Emily also tied Lindsey with the most career starts. Although I think her chances are slim in having her jersey retired, I do believe she deserves consideration and was one of Nebraska's best all around players.

Yes, I think both Lindsey and Jordan will have their jerseys hanging in the rafters. I think there's a little bit of a waiting period before that actually happens. Mo waited 4 years for hers and she said in her speech that she was really glad they waited to retire her jersey later instead of right after she graduated because she said after your away for a while as it has a lot more meaning to come back and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Coach Osborne said when he was the AD he wanted both the men's and women's basketball programs to do more of this going forward. I'm with you on Emily's chances of having her jersey up in the rafters. I also think there are some players from the past that merit some consideration of having their jersey up there also.

After going through the NU record books, a strong case could be made for Anna DeForge to have her Jersey retired. She graduated in 1998 and is still in the top ten in scoring (currently #8), rebounding (currently #7) and assists (currently #8). She is the only player in the top 10 in all three categories. She was a two time All American.

Another individual who should be under strong consideration is Nicole Kubik. She graduated in 2000 and is currently ranked in the top ten in scoring (currently #7) and assists (currently #4). She is 29th in rebounding. Nicole was a one time All American, a 2 time defensive All American and a one time National Defensive Player of the Year.

Row6, I hope you are right that the university will explore retiring more jerseys. We do not want it to become to common place but on the other hand, recognition should be given to those who have excelled while playing for our women's basketball team.

Some of the players discussed in this thread could also be elected in the newly formed Hall of Fame. Karen Jennings was the first women's basketball player elected and I would like to see them select deserving older players first.

In my Opinion Anna put the Huskers on the map in getting  the players that they are getting now. I know that doesn't sound right, and I don't know how else to explain it.

She was our first big time player that was "found" by the national press. Which in turn allowed us to start to get national exposer that allows for better players, which gives us better teams. Kind of like we are hoping Terran will be for the men.

After doing more research on Anna, she played at NU before I started following women's basketball, it would be nice to get her back involved in NU basketball. One way to do that would be to retire her jersey. I believe she earned that honor and with any luck, it will happen soon.

She tough as nails, correct me if I'm wrong but IMHO she much sample only a better scorer.
