Has anyone watched any of the games today live or on TV. I just watched FCSH vs. Wynot, what a game. It looked like the girls missed some shots due to the vastness of PBA. any thoughts?

The smaller schools play the first round at a local HS and I think if they make it to the championship game at PBA then the vastness of the arena bothers them. That and I think any team that makes it to the championship game is battling fatigue at that point so we see lots of air balls. I have my doubts that any team that has relied heavily on the three during the season will be able to be successful in the championship game, JMO.

I'm really in awe of the Norfolk girl that is missing half of her arm.

I was telling my wife that when I was in grade school we had a kid who had a deformed hand and one leg longer than the other. but he played basketball. And yes that takes a lot of I'm just one of the kids to play and she is fairly good at it. And it's nice to see a women ref in this game. Do you know the name of the big girl for Westside ?

I would agree, and it could have been tired legs affecting those shots.

Just heard the announcers say freshman Weidemann from Westside has interest (or offers?) from Princeton and Creighton already.

She's pretty slick ball handler. I thought you were talking about # 14 I thought she was the freshman.

This next game Hastings STC won by 46 last night. the team they beat Sutton, beat them in December by 2. this next game should be good as well Crofton & STC are usually very competitive towards each other.

I'm impressed with the little point guard for HSC. So far I'm not impressed with Crofton at all.

Her sister plays ball @ Hastings College very quick. their dad the coach of STC also played @ Hastings College.

She plays like a senior,  and with very good overall skills. Starting for Westside, the new class A state champion team...she's one to watch.

Kind of has the type of skills Yori likes.

I'm not sure, I had grand kids over so audio was not very good.

I went to all of the last 4 games today. It will take Maddie Simon a little time to get adjusted to the speed of division 1. Hopefully once she graduates she gets with the team and starts getting acclaimated to the style of ball she's about to imbark on.

Crofton was the best team in the state tournament! They saved the best for last. Very impressed with how they play offensively and their defensive tenasity. They had a hard time getting anything to fall the first quarter but once they broke the lid on the bucket it was all Crofton the rest of the way. I really like how Allison Arens the South Dakota recruit plays. She could play for the Huskers. So glad I stayed for the C-2 game and saw Crofton and not left like some of my co-horts did after the Class A game.

I think Maddie is a hard worker and won't disappoint her freshman year. She was only at about 80% yesterday because she hasn't fully recovered from her ankle injury and I believe she has also been ill this week.

FWIW, my thoughts on Simon--Connie will love her length; she likes a long guard.  Good athlete, can run the floor; will get stronger.  But I think the ultimate test for Maddie is whether she improve her outside shot.  At the next level they can take away the drive (she excels at that) if they don't have to guard her on the perimeter.   Right now I believe her shot needs a lot of work.  Hope it all comes through for her; great kid, great family, intriguing prospect.

Yes....The cass B ball is played pretty slow....obviously... compared to B1G. Kind of thought, in some ways, the team she was with, kind of held her back from doing what she can do.

It will take her some time...like most freshman, to adapt to the quickened pace. She's played quite a bit of club ball, so may have seen a lot of better competition.

Watching the girls tourney yesterday....they could impliment a shooting clock....45 sec, one min., or what ever.

I would be in favor of a 45 second shot clock and, I'm just going to say it, removing the three point shot. I want to see kids moving with and without the ball and not just chucking up 30 footers. I want to see kids that are able to dribble and create and I don't want to see teams that fall apart when the 3 ball isn't falling.
