Since it still feels like basketball season outside today I guess this mornings Journal Star's article about this past season and their expectations on the next one is right on cue. Using their top 5 highlights of the past season what was your top highlight?

3. Who’s the fifth starter?: It could be Jeffery, making the Huskers a four-guard starting lineup. It could be Alli Havers, a 6-foot-5 sophomore who flashed her potential with a 17-point performance against Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals. Or the fifth starter could come from the incoming freshman class in the form of 6-2 Kaylee Page (Kansas), or maybe a true post player in 6-2 Darrien Washington (California). Whoever it is will be part of a process to replace the invaluable contributions of Hooper.

2. Incoming freshman class: A top-10 recruiting class will be pressed into service early as Yori looks to establish more depth and quickness in the lineup. Guards Jasmine Cincore (Tennessee) and Natalie Romeo (California) could see plenty of playing time early. Page and Washington give the Huskers some options in the post. Chandler Smith, from Brewster, Wash., has some size (6-0) and skill to add to the guard line, and Emily Wood of Salina, Kan., can dial it up from long distance

And here's the World Herald's article on what went on last season and what could happen come next year.

Given that Yori must integrate the freshmen into the existing roster — and do that with decent minutes, not mop-up duty — the Huskers could struggle early next season. But several of the Big Ten's stronger teams — Maryland, Penn State and Purdue among them — lose their best players and will be in rebuilding mode.

Nebraska lost its best player, too, but has far more returning, and should again be the league favorite, with a potential nod to Iowa and perhaps Minnesota.

I voted for the title. Really though, this season was my favorite season to follow in a while. And JHoops senior night was really, really special. And KG23's jersey retirement. I think I may have gotten some dust in my eye on all three of those occasions. Really was quite the beautiful season.

Future is bright for Husker hoops! And I can finally say, not just the ladies!
