REDZONEDAN Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 It'd be funny if he turned out better than WoodburyHopefully he has more than an 12 inch vertical. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 He can't be any goofier looking. Woodbury is a box ballerina man. Quote
GATA Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 He doesn't have an Iowa offer yet, but apparently he's been to Iowa City quite a few times to check out the Hawkeyes. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Saw him up close this evening - I think he's fairly stout for his size & age. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 If he would walk on take him. Otherwise he's a less talented Jacob Hammond. hhcmatt and Bangarang 1 1 Quote

AuroranHusker Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Decided to go the Juco route http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ikenna-okwarabizie Perhaps he will re-surface on NU's radar in 2 yrs as a polished & poised post player performing perimeter & post/pivot moves to perfection... Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Surprising he ends up at Tyler, thats a .500 team in a watered down league, when theres 3 juco's in Iowa that are ranked or receiving votes. If he had D1 offers already you'd think he couldve ended up and done well at a school closer to home. Quote

The only reason I noticed this today was because he was on Southern Miss' radar and I was checking to see if they had anyone worth poaching. They didn't. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 So out of nowhere he has up and committed to UCLA. Crazy to see that cross the lines today. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Seeing that he's now 6-10 250 and had offers from UCLA, Texas, VT, Iowa State, and Iowa I am wondering why we didn't stay on him especially since we seem to lack in the center dept and we had him visit last year. Quote

Maybe it is because of that list. He might of said do you see who is after me? So you can save the time and go away. Quote

Seems like a pretty big whiff on our part Quote
hhcmatt Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 "I think there's probably three factors. One he did a great job recruiting him. Second I have a long relationship with coach Alford and have sent him kids over the years and they've all been successful athletically and academically and ultimately its UCLA," said Tyler head coach Mike Marquis. "We just thought this was the best fit for him." I would read this as once he went the JUCO route and he was good enough there, he wasn't coming here. Quote
