Nebraska enters Saturday’s matchup ranked No. 10 in both major national polls with a 6-0 overall recordafter beating UMASS - Lowell 77-42 Wednesday. The Cornhuskers return eight letterwinners including four starters off of last year’s team that went 25-9 overall, finished second in the Big Ten and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Jordan Hooper paces the club with 19.8 ppg and 10.0 rpg. Head coach Connie Yori is in her 12th season at Nebraska and owns a 215-135 career record at the school.

The Cougars return 11 letterwinners including three starters from last year’s team that went 11-20, 6-12 in the Pac-12, finishing eighth in the conference and advancing to the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament for the second straight season. Headlining the returners are a pair of All-Pac-12 selections in Lia Galdeira and Tia Presley along with senior forward Sage Romberg, a three-year starter for the Cougars.

WSU is coming to Lincoln following an 80-73 loss at BYU last Tuesday. Nebraska leads the all time series between the two schools at 4-0 with 2 games in Lincoln and two in Pullman.

Expect Nebraska to play their starters considerable minutes until they can get more productive and meaningful minutes out of the bench. I'm thinking Allie Havers and Brandi J will get some time off the bench the others not so much.

It's time for Brandi to get it going.  She has been struggling big time.  We don't have other answers at that position, so it would help immensely if we could get her going in the right direction.

76-72 Huskers fall short on a game they could very well have won. Free throws and put backs could have put the Huskers at 7-0 if they could have got a few more of them to fall.

We definitely could use a tall experienced center that can finish around rim.  I lost count on how many two footers they threw up that didn't go in. We were out hustled way too many times especially the start of both halves. Slow covering the three point line will be our achilles heel all season if they're going sag that far off the shooter and  take that long to respond to the open shooter.

Good to see Hooper taking the ball to the hoop but she needs to finish when she gets in there.

We've got to find someone that can knock that outside shot down on a consistent basis. I was hoping I wouldn't have to say it this year but right now we're missing Zeroes big, big time! They got Allie, Sadie and Tvrdy some minutes but they've got a ways to go to get more minutes. Tvrdy's getting some valuable experience but she has to pick the speed up if she wants to garner more minutes.

Give credit where credits due as it's a mark of a good team to be down 19 with 13 minutes to go to make a run to cut the lead to 1 with a lot of chances to finish it out and win it.

North Carolina is next and you can bet everyone of their players are faster than what we saw this afternoon.

This is a game that hurts in March. Good comeback, with help from the crowd. Lack of depth continues to hurt us. We peddled uphill so long, and couldn't sub in fresh players. Some unforced turnovers; surprising ones from Theriot to help fuel big Wazzu runs. Nice first half out of Sample.

We've got to find a way to win games like this. When you can't finish the job on a 500 team on your home court it doesn't say much to the chances of making the tournament let alone getting past the first or second round. Which in turn makes it that much more of a challenge to get back to Pinnacle Bank Arena for the Sweet 16. As of now the Huskers aren't playing like a tournament team capable of making the sweet 16. These next two games will say a lot. Pressure will start to mount if the Huskers don't perform well in them.  Beating North Carolina next week will go a long ways to squash those thoughts.  We have to have everyone on board and focused the rest of the way especially the bench.

Lack of depth and inside offensive post presence really hurt in this game.  Wazzu had a good defensive plan and we seemed to content to fire up outside shots.  Not many key offensive rebounds in the game.  North Carolina could be ugly but I wouldn't write this team off.  We make a few shots, we beat Wazzu.  They just didn't fall.

Plus one on the shots did fall.
