Norm Peterson Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 What's with all these guys outside the B1G footprint? His Rivals page says he's from Houston. I assume he's been working with Adam Barnes, then, and maybe that's the connection. Quote

ajb5856 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Report Posted July 19, 2013 I will be interested to see if we offer this giant, if we are too late in the game, or if Kenya has any pull with Elbert. Or Craig Smith for that matter, he's got the Texas connections, right? @WestCoastHwk247: #KUBBall RT @CoachJonSmith: Elbert Robinson may be the best passing true center in America. Assist (cont) http://t.co/rNmoDBVCzi @PBRhoopsboys: Lots of coaches here to watch Dallas Seawolves and 7'00" Elbert Robinson #GreatPassingBigMan @DJH5Report: Plex Update: 2014 P Elbert Robinson was Impressive with his post play on both ends of floor. ... @CoachJonSmith: 7ft Seawolves Elbert Robinson is controlling the game whether its scoring or finding his cutters and shooters. Great IQ !! @TexasHoopsGASO @BrandonOSports: Elbert Robinson is also really good with his left hand. Has a few lefty hooks after solid moves. He has went far beyond my expectations. @BrandonOSports: Elbert Robinson has shown superior passing ability today. Whether to offside shooters or cutters down lane. JT3 has to be impressed. @CoachJonSmith: Elbert Robinson may be the best passing true center in America. Assist from the block are valuable!! @TexasHoopsGASO @TXboysbasketbal Quote

He has Louisville, Georgetown, and Ohio State as his top 3 with Kansas and Okie State rounding out a top 5 from what I have seen online. No chance we compete with those teams. Quote

I really do, especially for the 2014 guys. But at some point, if we get to be the caliber of team that can compete in the NCAA tournament, this kind of thinking has to stop. Are we saying that we don't want to compete with Ohio State? You're right, it's not reasonable to think that we can compete with Ohio State for a recruit right now. Especially coming in late. It's just not gonna work. The coaches are building relationships. Its going to take another year or two of building these relationships as well as another year or two of these recruits being able to watch how the program is improving. It sucks that Ben Johnson bailed to Minnesota. I would have loved to see if Johnson could have gotten a Rashad Vaughn or a Reid Travis to at least visit us. Now I feel like we are another year behind with one assistant and them having contacts with recruits that would consider coming here. As it stands I'm still impressed with the direction of our recruiting. Obviously it has improved by leaps and bounds over the last year and a half. Having rivals top 100 guys in the fold is outstanding. Now we wait for August to watch the narrowing down of lists and the announcements of official visitors. I can't wait to see who we can bring in for an official visit. Nebrasketballer 1 Quote
