Huskerpapa Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Janacek looks to be a 1* at this time. Is that still accurate? Quote
Nebrasketballer Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Janacek looks to be a 1* at this time. Is that still accurate? Well I'm not sure about that, but he would've only been a freshman this last season and probably only like 14 years old, so I would think that he will have plenty of time for improvement. Quote
Nebrasketballer Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Here is an article about Janacek: http://future150.com/hs/basketball-news/2016-sg-hunter-janacek-vastly-improving-2292 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 He is the class of 2016 so he is a looooooong way off from being 100% what we are looking at. Quote

Nebrasketballer Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Robin Washut just said on 93.7 The Ticket that Janacek shot something like 50% from 3-Point last season Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 He would be in the class that would replace Shields, Parker, Vucetic, Petteway and Pitchford. So, we have a lot of room in that class and needs at all positions, basically. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted June 10, 2013 Author Report Posted June 10, 2013 I didn't originally see his age...I am a bit more excited about his visit now Quote
NUdiehard Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Norm, how can you bear to even read about this kid? He credits Barnes with much of his impovement and he even calles Barnes "Coach"!!!! One of the biggest reasons for his improvement has been the work of Player Development Specialist - Coach Adam Barnes in Houston. Coach Barnes, who does a lot of work with the Future150 family, had great things to say about Hunter and his work ethic. Hunter had similar comments regarding Coach Barnes.“Coach Barnes has been huge to my game. I met him at the Future150 Camp in Houston and since then he has been the primary reason my game has elevated to the level it is at today. Getting in the gym with Coach Barnes only motivates me to push myself harder and harder. The technique and skill work he teaches is second to none and I know the work will only help me as I work to get ready for the upcoming AAU season.” Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 I'm going to evaluate a kid on his own merit. If he's top notch and wants to be a Husker, I don't care if he likes liver and onions. Or Air Supply. Or other things I don't particularly care for. I'm not going to hold it against the kid that he worked out for a certain instructor or at a given place. Life is too short and I try not to let such issues affect my thinking. I certainly don't dwell on Adam Barnes and I don't go out of my way to say anything about him, let alone anything negative. (I won't NOT saying something, either, though. I just don't go out of my way.) I read what you posted. I think it falls in the category of "client testimonials" used for promotional purposes. I wouldn't be surprised if someone wrote out the interview responses and just asked the kid if that sounded about right. I know how these things work. Kid probably didn't come up with those things on his own. By the way, I know what you're getting at but I sincerely mean it when I say I try not to go out of my way to say anything -- negative or otherwise -- about Adam Barnes. Live and let live. I'm not wanting to be baited into bashing him. Let him do his thing. Nothing about what he's doing affects me in my world. Live and let live. Let him do his thing. And if he's successful by his definition of success, it takes nothing away from me so I certainly don't hope for his failure or anything remotely close to that. Norm is takin' the high road.
