It's something that had to be called. Kind of depends on how the rest of the game was officiated. Weird situation with the foul discrepancy in NW-PU.

Do you call it on the NW guy?

What happened? I didn't watch it... I know about 46 FTs to 8. So, I suppose it was called on NW.

Weird deal, but it seems that Collins acted out like he was a spaz. He probably knew his team needed that win to go to the Big Dance, and it was somehow taken from him.

Edey had the NW big hooked around the neck, and the foul was on NW

Purdue's monstrous centers make the referees' jobs very difficult. As I recall, one of them, Isaac Haas I think, was put out of the NCAA's as a senior when he was pulled to the ground after an opposing center hooked his arm and he broke his elbow. The height and bulk of the players cause them to be expected to absorb more punishment than a "normal "sized guy and opposing players can usually get away with more against them. Actually, it sort of worked for Northwestern last night when Edey couldn't hit his free throws. Just look at the punishment Mast is supposed to absorb and he isn't even that huge.

Rienk Mast is 6'-10" 248# so I'd say he's still huge, just not as huge as Zach Edey, who's about 7'-4" 300#!
