One thing I know for sure after watching the Penn St game in it's entirety, is that we do not yet know who we are as a team. No identity. I don't understand how a team that played so well against Michigan could come out and Sh*t the bed the next game. It seemed like some things were established in that Michigan game, such as we need more production out of other people. AM is going to get her double-double. We all know that. Jaz may or may not get hot. But what is everyone else going to do? I believe KM needs to start in place of MK. I know some don't agree, but I don't see the upside in starting MK anymore, on either side of the floor. I also think if this Yball substitution pattern doesn't change (unlikely that it will), we will see a lot of what we saw on Sunday for the rest of the season. Nobody even has time to get into a rhythm, other than AM and JS. Thoughts?

I really do not have a problem with all the substitutions.  I do have many issues with the lack of identity.  Rolling in that many bodies should keep people fresh.  The benefit with fresh bodies is the ability to defend.  We should be able to harass the other team the whole 40 minutes and grind them into a fine pulp.  We do not do that, most the time we lay off of them and depend on the three offensively, so they really aren't forced to defend us either and probably more importantly no physicality required

If we are going to play that many bodies, drop the hammer on defense.

If we are going to play the three ball fewer bodies and more rhythm needed

Quite personally, I would much rather more subs, MORE driving and dishing to wear them out and above all else drop the hammer on defense.  A real heavy hammer

Just my 2 cents.

I like the thought.  But, not sure we have the personnel for that.  Do we have that type of speed, quickness, athleticism across the roster?  I think we could go 6 or 7 deep, not sure how much further.  And, keep AM back in the paint if we give it a try.  Not sure we can afford her in foul trouble.  Pressure for periods of time, yes.  Prolonged? I think we would need to build a roster for that.  Getting AW back would be a good start.

I would much rather have a team that hangs it hat on offense. So that would translate to a shorter rotation.  I understand rotating in fresh players and hopefully they can give 100% for their shorter stretch on the floor. I see too many teams who use a shorter rotation with their starters playing heavier minutes. I also have seen teams who know defense is not their strong suit so they try to outscore you. More than a few teams do quite well with plan. Again, just MHO.

For the Iowa game, I do believe we need to rotate fresh bodies and hammer them defensively. Obviously, Clark will get hers, but if we can contain the other pieces we might have a chance. Of course, that means not depending on the three ball, and doing what so many have already said needs to be done...which is attacking and trying to get more high percentage shots and going to the line.

Agree Clark will get her points, one way or another. What really hurts is when Clark draws 3 defenders and Martin, or Marshall get open looks for a three. You can go from down 4-6 points and they suddenly add another 10-12 on top of the 4-6 already. They play just enough defense to make it work. Really think they key to beating Iowa is to play a more half court game with plenty of inside offense, and timely threes. We can't get into a run and gun game with them.

Things aren’t going to change with starting lineup or substitution patterns.  We are a middle of the pack team.  I don’t see postseason play unless it’s the WNIT.

I think there's a case on the starting lineup, but, yes a middle of the pack team. 18-11, 10-8, needing to win 1 or 2 at Big Tens to make NCAAs.
