redsteve Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 (edited) This will be a tough one. They're quick and athletic and can score. They rebound well. So defense will be everything. Top scorer/rebounder is their 6-5 center Wouldn't be surprised if we double team her, but not enough time to prepare that probably They'll have size on us in the post, and very tall subs. 6-4, 6-4, 6-5. One is Gony from Lincoln. She spent a year or so at Miami. Saw her play in high school. She's athletic, but needed a lot of skill development and playing time. but she's 6-4 Another note: New Coach for football Matt Rhule...sounds like a great fit. Loved the win over Iowa yesterday. Congrats Mickey GBR Edited November 26, 2022 by redsteve Montana_85 F and Red Don 2 Quote
12dozen Posted November 26, 2022 Author Report Posted November 26, 2022 Shelley should stop forcing passes. She must have at least 3 turnovers already. Huskers up 23 - 21 midway in the 2nd quarter. Quote
Red Don Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 At the Half: Huskers Lead Mississippi St by 3 pts: 29-26 Stats: 12dozen 1 Quote
12dozen Posted November 26, 2022 Author Report Posted November 26, 2022 I was hoping they would take Markowski out the last 30 seconds of the half. Sure enough, she picked up a foul. Luckily, it was only her first. As Redsteve said, this will probably be close to the end. GBR Red Don 1 Quote
Red Don Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 A really tight See-Saw Battle. Huskers lead by 1 at the end of the 3rd Qtr: 40-39 Stats after 3 Qtrs of Play: Quote
Red Don Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 Is either team going to score 50 Pts!!! Officiating sounds pretty poor Quote
Red Don Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 Thirteen lead changes. Miss State by one: 49-50. Quote

Cazzie22 Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 Make a free throw and OT wouldn’t be necessary. Jaz is saving us in the OT. 12dozen and Red Don 2 Quote
hoop_head Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 So much fun hearing Matt and Jeff get excited. It's contagious. Nothing like a nice big smile doing dishes! Red Don and Montana_85 F 1 1 Quote

Cazzie22 Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 Important win. Need to sharpen up at the free throw line and improve passing against pressure. VA Tech will be a tough assignment. Red Don 1 Quote
redsteve Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 (edited) Shelly for president ! AMAZING What a game. Nice that we could stay tough and persever for the win. I thought we might get beat up n the boards with their height, but Markowski was a warrior with 15 rebounds. When that happens it lets your guards and forwards get extra shots Edited November 26, 2022 by redsteve Red Don and Cazzie22 1 1 Quote
Red Don Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 Saw this elsewhere: Jaz Shelly scored 32 aloNe while Carter, Jordan & Johnson only scored 35 between them. redsteve, Montana_85 F and Cazzie22 1 2 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 Jaz, Bourne and Markowski logged plenty of minutes. Moriarity provided a nice boost in the 4th quarter. She may be the key reserve as we move forward. Quote

12dozen Posted November 26, 2022 Author Report Posted November 26, 2022 Anyone else watch on Flosports? Not sure who was running the arena clock. Someone should have told them to stop the clock, when a whistle blows. Refs left much to be desired also. Good to get out of there with another win. redsteve and Red Don 2 Quote
Red Don Posted November 26, 2022 Report Posted November 26, 2022 GRIT; NO QUIT HUSKER LADIES!!! (Are Back!!!) Quote
HUD Posted November 27, 2022 Report Posted November 27, 2022 A close game we needed to learn from and still win. Great to see Jaz regain her shooting touch. Kendall M. getting better each game. Maybe with the set back on the VB team from injury and illness and more then likely a poorer seed we may see Maggie M. available a bit sooner. We still need that shot blocker. Can't wait.
