ESPN-W put out an article today about 3 high profile 2017 recruits committing to the school they grew up dreaming to one day get a chance to play for. Taylor Kissinger is one of the players they interviewed.

Jensen said the recruiting interest for Kissinger spiked after she played an AAU tournament in Virginia earlier this summer.

 

"After that tournament, nearly every coach was calling her," Jensen said. "Louisville was intriguing to her. But Nebraska had made a coaching change, and she wanted to see how that played out."

 

Kissinger said she's glad she waited because she quickly built a bond with Williams. While that was happening, she got an earful from the small town of Minden, population 2,960.

 

"There were a lot of people telling me, 'You've got to go to Nebraska,'" she said. "I think the people in town wanted me to go to school where they can come to my games and support me, and that's how it turned out."

Thanks for posting the article Row6.  Living only 15 miles or so from Minden, I've been able to see Taylor play a number of times. Like the people from Minden, I was so happy when she decided to go to Nebraska.  Hope everything goes well for her this season and can't wait to see her in Husker RED next year!!

Can't wait to read the rest of the article when I get the chance.  Like the snippet that you shared there.  Great to read that she waited and built a bond with Williams.  Thanks for sharing.
