  1. I did think it could be related to the song. This would be preferable. Now I’m imagining the Michigan State coaching staff getting excited that he might be out. Then they show a player the story and he’s like “He’s talking about the song coach.” Izzo “What does it mean.” Player “um...” Cyrptic social media posts are one of my favorite things about basketball for some reason. So forgive me for trying to be the Woj of Instagram. ?
  2. The post? Just checked it again posted 16 minutes ago.
  3. Copeland just posted an instagram story of him driving no words were spoken but the ?emoji tells the story. I think he's sick. ?
  4. Which is exactly why it shouldn't be used by ESPN because it shouldn't matter.
  5. What I meant is the AP poll isn't used by the commit NET ranking is so I honestly don't know why everyone (including universities and news papers) thinks they are still so important. I know we need humans to tell us things like NU shouldn't quite be 13th right now but in college football we use the selection committee rankings once they come out. So why aren't we using the closest indicator of what the selection committee will determine. This ranking is why whoever FS1 hired to do bracketalogy has us at a 4 seed right now. Which fits perfectly as 4 seeds should be the 13-16 best teams in the country. As a 2nd opinion Joe Lunardi has us as a 6 seed. 13 13 Nebraska Big Ten 12-4 1-3 2-1 8-0 1-0
  6. That should happen either way. In my book we are already ranked 13th before this game. Hoping for a top 10 match Thursday.
  7. The closest game would be vs Creighton if you want a better game than that? Well I think this team is great but that was an incredible performance.
  8. Will this be televised on Instagram live? I want to here about his defensive switching strategy while this problem is being solved!
  9. Hate this team we can never seem to pull out a close game. I mean another double digit game. ? Oh and did I mention fire Miles! Our offense didn’t have a FG for 9..... “what... we won?” Oh, well Michigan State is still definitely a must win. I’ll believe when we beat someone in the top 10.
  10. I've definitely seen him at multiple games including the scrimmage with his dad no less. Would anyone from this board transfer to another school? He's probably just as big of a fan as we are.
  11. Even if they don't become Q1 wins this is why we are ranked so high. Now that I know games are only halfway capped at ten a 23 point win vs OSU and Seton Hall along with a huge win vs Creighton (19 points) is really helping us in NET rank. Point differential is the best predictive success factor computer rankings have. People still look at wins and losses as being so important. It seems to me that wins are certainly less than 50% of the algorithm and probably closer to 25%. For NET ranking and therefore quadrants I would much rather one of our opponents lose by one and then win by 10 than win the same two games by 1. The former indicates a better team and NET ranking reflects that now.
  12. Here's a useless fact of the day. My 11th grade statistics class did an experiment to see if we could taste the difference between blue Gatorade and blue Power-aid. After extensive research it turns out we could not tell the difference. Also IMO Pepsi tastes better than Coke.
  13. Here it is! 1 and 2 in 3 The Huskers have gone 1-2 in our last 3 games but, are Caleb and Jake in a panic? No, they break down the games in a calm, cool and collected fashion. We also discuss who has earned a free pass from criticism and how long this temporary pass will be in effect. We also talk about the next few games and what we expect from the Huskers. We are now on iHeart Radio along with iTunes and Spotify!

  15. Great information I really want to understand this and it seems like you have it down. That makes more sense. My only question is what is an example of an efficiency component?
  16. I know RPI just sucks but NET rank is funky too. It’s benifiting us a lot but Penn State just moved up for losing by 6. What? The maximum amount you can “lose” by in the simulation is 10. Would they have moved up if they lost by 30, which the computer would see as 10? And overall they are ranked 74 with a 7-9 record. It seems to me that they could make the tournament with a losing record!? A top 45 RPI team from the B1G was almost a guaranteed bid in the last 15 years. And if they win half of their games from here on out I would guess they’d get to top 45 NET. To me that’s getting into strange territory but maybe their schedule is just that hard and they deserve it.
  17. Thank goodness though we would have been more likely to lose because they score right after we fouled at least 2 I think all 3 times! They didn't call them shooting either and they could have been. From a neutral stance I agree though you're totally right it was very strange.
  18. The refs hurt us in this game because Palmer relies on the refs and we drove more. But honestly if every game was called like that I would be overjoyed. They didn't totally botch any calls and were quite consistent in their no calls at the rim. There were things I disagreed with but great job by the refs.
  19. It was probably exactly what you thought it was from tv. Better than a normal school but didn’t live up to our standards.
  20. This is very true. It’s quite common in my experience and I would bet Penn State purposely sets up their offense to get it. PSU wasn’t very efficient but they took the Right shots. They either shot the three which allows for a long rebound or shot a layup which allows for a week aside rebound. And when you get the weak side rebound you are in perfect position to easily score. These are also analytically the best places on the floor to shoot.
  21. NU 83 PSU 68 I'm going with the huskers are good at home trend.
  22. I don't really know but at this point it's not really about stars or rankings. We have two years of basketball that we can go off of. We have his vertical we know he has a long (not sure how long) wing span. We have a lot of data to project his future off of so I don't really care if he's the number 3 player in these rankings. Does someone really have enough time to follow 100 players as much as we follow Jervay? Probably not except that I don't know that much about juco overall and maybe his ridiculous stats were more normal than I thought in Juco. Using my own eyes I have made clear I think he will be incredible. One stat I just noticed that is concerning is that he is only shooting 55% on FT. That would probably be more concerning if he wasn't taking 3's at such a high volume but it is an obvious statistical indicator of projected success and should not be totally discarded as a factor when we project success. The reason I am projecting him to be such a great player is because of his lack of weaknesses. Even when you look at the top of the NBA draft there are almost no players who are the complete package. Check out the players in the top 10 of the last 5 NBA drafts you will be hard-pressed to find a player who is either incredibly athletic or tall, who also has the ability to shoot the three, and can put the ball on the floor with success. That’s not even mentioning passing which seems to be there and defense which he should have the ability to be great in with his athletic ability. If he is not able to shoot the three or he doesn't particularly try on defense his stock falls a lot for me. But even if he doesn’t live up to my dream scenario I think he could still be a slightly lesser James Palmer and I can be okay with that.
  23. That’s correct ??
  24. Sorry wasn’t directing this particularly at you. But we just spent like 5 posts on if we were favored or not against Minnesota. It’s something I’ve been hearing on instagram as well so I was actually wondering if people think about sports this way. Sports are about enjoyment and different people enjoy sports in different ways. I enjoyed watching a team lose on purpose (not Nebraska) ? for multiple years but I know some people wouldn’t imagine doing that. So I am just making sure I haven’t been missing a common way of enjoying sports.
