  1. The rumors aren't directly basketball related. They have nothing to do with this year's record; Any discussion of a coaching change based on on the court performance would be absurd. Basketball-wise there is a long history of extraordinary success for this program. We have the freshman player of the year in the league and a highly ranked incoming class. There is nothing there basketball wise to discuss. If the record we had this year (nearly 20 wins and a .500 record in the league; not exactly a disaster) after losing 4 senior starters and then half the team to injury has people calling it a tough year creating a rumor mill, our fan base has become spoiled beyond belief. I don't whether any rumors flying around are true, but I assure you if something happens it will have nothing to do with the past season, on the court performance in games, or recruiting. B.I.N.G.O. I have heard, again rumors only like all of them, that it has to do, to some extent anyway, with the way Yori treated her players, especially during practice. It is my understanding that at least someone in administration was at many practices this year to observe. Why? who really knows but, if true, adds intrigue to all of this. May have to do with Yori's divorce of her husband, and/or other personal things, but that in and of itself would not/should not have been a major factor. IF these rumors have legs, I would say it must have something to do more with treatment of players and staff than anything outside (unless something outside was of the illegal nature which I truly doubt). Dirk may be able, but probably shouldn't, shed some light of this rumor. So which it, is it a basketball issue or as HB state's a non basketball issue. Or maybe none of us outsiders know what the hell is going on, which would be the more likely scenario. I think it could be some of both but that would be me acting like I really know something which I do not. We all know how these "rumors" get started and seem to take on a life of their own. There may be nothing to see hear on any front but some things just seem to persist in staying out there. Is it someone, or someone(s), who are simply trying to stir things up in this? Possibly but..... You have to think, maybe not believe but at least think, that someone in administration has heard the rumors going around and that if there were nothing to the rumors they might have, in their own way, said/done something to dismiss them but, again, I really know nothing, just what I keep hearing. Do those I hear this from really have any true knowledge of the situation? I can only say their info is usually correct in most, not all but most, things inside the AD so, with that, take it for what it's worth (which may not be a plugged nickle).

  3. Quite simply Jimmy, You, nor I, nor anyone other than family and coaches are entitled to know. It serves no purpose for us to know, other than those who can't "not know everything" getting their feeling of entitlement bruised.
  4. Yep, a tip of the cap to the Baby Bears from Birds on the Bat!!
  5. either way, he pays his own way for a night at the Embassy? pretty pricy isn't it?
  6. I thought OV's were only to last 48 hours. if his begins tonight, the OV should be over Saturday evening. That 3rd night would have to be on his own dime? Per http://www.ncsasports.org/blog/2009/10/30/official-visits/ So, you're saying I am correct that he would have to pay for Saturday night on his own. The U will pay for Tonight and Friday night but not Saturday night so is it for certain he is staying Saturday night?

  8. What Rivals won't tell you is that he earned those 5 stars from a good test score, helping the teacher clean up after class, and participating in class. 5 more stars and he'll get an invitation to the pizza party at the end of the semester. He'll ONLY get the invite to the pizza party IF he forks out the cash to attend one of Rival's famous test score/class clean up evaluation weekends.
  9. http://www.scout.com/player/6867379n-kwe-parker/recruiting?s=75 How about a simple yes or no answer to the question please?
  10. no time to sit and listen to a podcast. Cliff notes?
  11. He's 6'8" as a HS junior. No hair on his legs or face. Probably still growing. He has the skills of a wing. Nice touch on his shot. Agility for a guy that size is ++. Some guys that size are still a little awkward/clumsy at that age (or older -- think Toney McCray.) Isaiah is fluid. He's fluid, he's smooth, he has a nice build even at his height and weight. He'll be able to add to that frame. Plus, he has the ability to put it on the floor and drive or shoot from the perimeter. He has a lot of tools and a lot of upside. And he seems to have the kind of demeanor that won't be a liability come draft day (see Petteway, Terran.) Roby will be a great replacement for Shields. possibly an upgrade if he keeps improving. According to Miles, Gill is targeted to be the replacement for Shields. He said exactly that when he announced Gill was official.
  12. Walshut says he is still visiting KU as of this morning.
  13. Don I maybe missing something here, but how does contacting Coach Barnes prove his value? Don't get me wrong, I like the hire, if he can get us a big I will like it big time! (yes pun intended). I think you'll find that AB is one who made contact with Burno. Just more of the "hey look at me, I'm important" crap from him. We'd be better off if we forgot Barnes ever existed. Just a blowhard who enjoys vastly overstating his importance.
  14. i don't believe we can have both. I would prefer paschal. I think max might make us 1-2 games better for the upcoming season, but paschal could be an nba center with a year of development and we would possibly get 3 full seasons of him. We can have both. One would have to pay his own way. It's happened before. Or we pull someone scholarship. If both want to come, it would be a very good scenario for us with one getting to play this year and the other getting to play the following year. Its hard enough recruiting to NU as it is. Pulling a scholarship at this point would definitely hurt more in the long run than us getting these two guys. IF, and it's a BIG IF, Nebr were to have the opportunity to land both players, what is the chance Will pays for Shavon's final year for the good of the team?
  15. Probably a case of being clueless about what was really going on....In many ways. I still have to think young Miss White had to see some of the stuff happening.....but.... ...and/or... he apparently would never admit his mistake in character judgment of the coach...and he was fooled big time when Chatrice was recruited. To say the stuff he just said....after all that has occurred.....clueless.....out of touch with reality. These kids don't need to be harassed (and worse), and brow beat to play college sports. Or young miss White holds the same belief system as her father, which may be a little scary if he deed know what is happening.
  16. So how many offers from Nebraska does he have? That little comma between "offer" & "from" is so small, it might even be 'missing'! Actually, it should be a semicolon I do believe. No, it shouldn't. It should read (among other options), "I got another offer, this one from Nebraska." Do YOU teach English kind sir? Placing a semicolon after the word offer, is perfectly acceptable. Actually, grammatically, the way it was written was correct. It simply left room for interpretation as to exactly what was meant.

  18. Does he even have any of his five official visits left to take?
  19. https://twitter.com/huskerextrabr/status/598548912723615744 So, we choose to believe whichever source suits our fancy? Several conflicting reports concerning this. So, I still ask, how is Dickerson any different, or better, than Morrow and how does he fill the "big man" role everybody has a hard on for?
  20. my question also. The Fla guy said he was 6'7 and no taller than 6'71/2". This does NOT sound like the "big man" everybody is clamoring for.
  21. Same sex commitments? Not exactly true since, after all, she is a he.
  22. so basically he has no contact with dickerson? doesn't sound good. If he has had contact can he say that he has? I take it his statement is just a timing thing ( he doesn't want to say anything about it at this time ). "I think they are aligned with UF".....we all know that is not currently the case ( at least with Noah D for sure). So it seems you gotta read between the lines...pretty easily in this case. Maybe he is saying he actually was not the lead recruiter for Dickerson?
