Been a Cards fan since '52. Only station we could get, from Beatrice, that broadcast baseball back then was KFMQ in St. Joe and they carried the Cards back then. This team, as well as last years, seems to have a calm about it when faced with adversity. They haven't always won (if they had won 50% of the games they had a lead going into the final 3 innings they would have won 100+ this year) but losing has never seemed to get to them at all.

Actually, practice began on Wednesday at the BoB. The windows were covered with a serier of old NIT banners and all the doors were locked tight. There is a cassette tape recording however of the sound of the squeaking of sneakers and explitives coming from the general area of the playing surface.
