  1. I think you made your mind up when you posted this lol
  2. Nah we never got rowdy at all in that old barn lol We behaved completely. Yep. That's it.
  3. ... technically since mt Michael is a boarding school he was probably not from Elkhorn. Although they do take day students at this point so who knows.
  4. This year... 51 wins.. They're destroying a 1 seed in the playoffs and nobody gave the celts and chance. Because everyone knows he aint trying til the playoffs. Last year it was a running commentary that he was ridiculous in the playoffs compared to the regular season. There's more.. and I would dig up stats.. but I'm moving and have to get back to it.
  5. True lol... If lebron plays as long as kareem he'll get the same leeway from me.
  6. Playing games doesn't equate to giving full effort in those games. I can show up and not do crap at work too. I dont. Cal ripken played tons of games. Kareem played tons of games. Lots of guys have played tons of games. Do you show up with full effort every time at those games? He doesn't.
  7. Fair to an extent... lol... but you're comparing guys (mostly taking eras and relative levels of physical training into account) and seeing where they stand and none of the other players on the lists that I've seen have taken huge parts of multiple seasons and coasted.
  8. Love coach pop.... like coach Jackson too... any bets how he'd react if Jordan or kobe took several weeks per year and decided they didn't want to try as hard? Yeah... sorry. Lebron is very good but he made the conscious choice to not maximize his talents. He could have been... but isnt.
  9. ...and yet if he actually tried they would win more. And yes... if a marathon runner takes his sweet time out of the gate he might still win the race but his overall time won't be among the best ever. So he aint. If he was any less talented he would be a flake. But he's a freak of nature so somehow he is excused.
  10. Lmao... yeah no... no it isnt more physical now than then. They made rule changes several years ago so scoring went up and guards were less challenged. Jordan was a guard. 20 in free throws... and yes because of athleticism... but the game is called differently. That was the Charles Oakley and Karl Malone era. Guards were abused. It isn't like the guy couldn't shoot 3s. Sheesh.
  11. You just made my point for me. You can't take random weeks off every month during the regular season and then turn it on in the playoffs every year and complain constantly about supporting cast.... then go win anyway. He doesn't put in effort consistently. Sure the finals were great. That team should win 70. What did they win... 56? Why? Because lebron ain't trying. Somehow because he tries in the playoffs that excuses him. Sure... he won that title singlehandedly. He could probably win 65-70 singlehandedly too. Every year. He doesn't try. Until he does. If he actually tried he would be in the top 2. He doesnt.
  12. Stats have to take era into account. Jordan would have scored 20 in free throws every night in this league. It is different eras statistically. Also for whoever said magic should be lower because of lack of defense... yes. That wasn't my list. If anything bird is too low on most lists because his d was good and he was a stupidly good shooter late.
  13. They give him that because when he tries he is that good. Everyone knows it. Everyone also knows he doesn't always try. Look when he gives his all the entire court tilts one way. No one is denying that. I heard a sport writer say once years ago that Jordan was the rarest of all athletes -- a supremely talented overachiever. LeBron is supremely talented. He doesn't have the drive to be the greatest so gets docked major points when compared to the greatest.
  14. Top ten yes. Top five not so much. When people point out (rightly) that kawhi Leonard actually plays defense.. well... they're right. The question isn't whether LeBron could play defense more and blow Leonard out of the water as a player. He just doesnt. He doesn't have the same drive and killer instinct as the true upper echelon. Just isn't in his personality.
  15. We could show gradual improvement and make the ncaas. An honest step forward and we could be pretty good. 2-3 ppg improvement (which isn't much... even against a rough schedule) against the same schedule and we're what... 4 games better minimum? Which is flat out an ncaa team. Do better and we are pretty good. Given the talent infusion I expect we could be fairly solid next year... if they give miles the shot he has earned.
  16. Lol... I'm not really putting expectations out there. I HOPE we can make a 3-1 run the last four. I hope better even but hey... I want good things like all of us... Might as well dream high
  17. I want northwestern. Call me sick and twisted all you want. I want to punch them in the mouth again and see if they get up. I'm willing to face purdue in the semis.
  18. Miles isn't perfect. That's what the "fire miles" segment can't stop harping on. Ive said it for years. For everyone short of hiring Tom izzo or coach k (we all know no way in hell) it was a 7-8 year process to build a consistent team and roster at the time when miles was hired unless you want to cheat. Calipari, izzo, etc were never coming here. And if they did what the loudmouths want the sanctions would have followed. Honestly in my opinion if EITHER aw3 doesn't transfer out OR morrow doesn't get hurt we make the ncaa and are way, way ahead of schedule if you realistically look at just how awful we were when we hired miles. I understand that managing young adults is the job description and that injuries happen but you can't plan for everything -- and we could easily have the worst luck in history on this level of basketball. This roster is good enough to win an ncaa game THIS year if we make a run in the next couple weeks. Much less next year or the year after. Yeah yeah probably won't happen this year. So what. Think about that one a minute -- even with all the bad years and luck that pretty much define this program and then think about what you'll do if you blow it up -- because nobody in their right mind thinks all these kids will stick around if you do. *shrugs* just my two cents. Take your shot. It's the best shot we've had at a winner in almost 30 years don't be a *ahem* (fill in a bad word) and scared that we will fail.
  19. Possibly. It'll be deeper than that team if nothing else.
  20. I agree we need a pg/tai type combo. I'm assuming fuller will graduate which is why we are even discussing it. Turner can do a bunch of things but he is definitely limited offensively. The rest of the roster is going to be a blast to watch. Depth up and down from 2-5.
  21. Survive and advance.
  22. A little front line depth toward a possible deep ncaa run doesn't hurt anyone. Never hurts having more bodies in the b1g. Recruiting wise.... I think it can be easier to recruit for a big class when you're successful. Mutual recruiting etc. Given that next year is likely a huge year for us regardless of this year... miles being all in isn't shocking.
  23. When is he eligible? 2nd semester next year?
  24. We have a backcourt that would give any ncaa match up nightmares. Guards win in march.
