i am puzzled no mention of trying to recruit this player...she would look awful good in scarlet and cream. unless she has told nebraska she has no interest. https://bismarcktribune.com/sports/basketball/century-s-ware-drawing-big-timers-to-bismarck/article_9fb3762d-564b-5d6a-ba92-930b6323b5f8.html

expected Patberg to get her points. i thought if they could limit Penn and/or Wise Huskers had great shot at getting a win at PBA. sure, Royster had to have her game of the season, so far anyway. i think she averaged 6.3ppg.? as mentioned earlier, i agree with some of the comments about Cain. i would like to see her get in a little better shape for next season. her drifting out to play defense at times has always driven me crazy. i was pretty surprised to see minny upset rutgers 60-46 (@williams). wondered how that happened so looked up some stats: Rutgers shot 33.9% in fg's. 15.8% 3pt'ers. 50% at the free throw line (5-10). i thought minny must have been HOT shooting: not so, minny shot fg's at a 32% clip, were 23.1% from 3. where minny won this game was at the free throw line. they shot 80.6% (25-31). big discrepency in free throws. also, minny practically played 5 players for the game. 2 other players got 4 minutes each (includes Lamke who has started at post most of the season) and i think one other player saw very minimal time (a little over a minute i think?). Bello had 21 rebounds---pretty impressive against a team like Rutgers, or anyone as far as that goes. KNIGHT NOTES- Senior forward Caitlin Jenkins has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team policy.

i don't know the ruling, but, i always thought as long as the player guarding the opponent (inbounding) does not jump across the out of bounds line or hit/touch the opponent, you are good. found this: Art 3 Player/Substitution Technical Fouls h. Reaching through the throw-in boundary-line plane and touching or dislodging the ball while it is in possession of the thrower-in or being passed to a teammate outside the boundary line as in Rule 7-4.6.b. This act shall also serve as a warning for reaching through the boundary (see Rule 4-9.1.g).

according to coach williams, yes (as stated on sports nightly). she said ref told Mershon to give inbounding player "space". not coach williams exact words. so, i kind of took it coach thought Mershon had backed off a bit too far---from the way coach was explaining the play.

even with "that one" leaving, hasn't nebraska done a fairly good job of keeping the talented ones at home? -

completely agree. too early for coach williams. next season might be a different story, though. things could ratchet up if play doesn't improve. next season should really be interesting for a number of reasons.

mik'l severe asking why husker sports are struggling? (except for vb and bowling). from baseball, fb, to both bb programs. he likes amy williams, but no doubt are struggling. states Moos needs to make some decisions. softball used to be a dominating program when he (severe) came to nebraska. anyway, discussion going on now.

in my mind, it's called cheating. i was not for the rule-----period!!!
-
one could tell she was not happy with that last play-----nor, the play of the huskers.

doesn't get any easier---this is tough: @Purdue Indiana @Michigan Purdue @Maryland MSU @NW Iowa @PSU any road win will be awful tough to come by. plus, those home games are nothing to sneeze at. i really hate to be a pessimist, but, i don't see but only a couple chances for wins here. PSU? Iowa? not saying they won't be in some of these games, but, the huskers just have a real tough time winning a close one.

should have never come to this in the first place. wow.

Northwestern Vs. Nebraska Game Thread ETC.

i expect Mershon and Cain to be in the starting lineup. completely agree Cain's defensive presence is very important. husker's success revolves around everyone knowing their role and playing well when called on. if Mershon and Cain start, i was just curious on opinions of who gets PK-A? i have been impressed with Mershon's movement around the basket and how she will fight for position. also, was just looking at freshman POW awards---i see Shakira Austin of Maryland has 5 and Naz Hillmon from Michigan has 4 (with the two sharing the award one week). 4 others (including husker's Brown) have 1 award. unless others really step it up, Hillmon and Austin are most likely going to battle for FOY. -

who starts out on PK-A? would you start out with Mershon? being Mershon is more athletic than Cain, maybe PK-A might have a little more difficulty getting around Mershon in positioning for a rebound. no doubt AK-P will get her share, but, just think Mershon might be the best option. yet, who knows, with Mershon being a freshman, she might get schooled by PK-A. any thoughts out there? -
Blackburn, Simon to attend WBCA's "So You Want To Be A Coach"
whoopdeedoo replied to Red Don's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
congrats and good luck to both simon and blackburn. getting glimpses of rb on the sidelines, not to mention her passion for the game when she was a player, it does not surprise me to see rb receive a spot in the program. -

nw appears to be a very good defensive squad. most likely won't get too many second chances. what's her name (?) will get her rebounds. pulliam will get her share of points. is abby scheid (sp?) back? i thought she was injured for a period? anyway, don't let her go off. nw definitely better than i originally thought---course, i was thinking what's her name graduated. i should have respected them more and not placed them to be the bottom feeder. that's for wiscy and/or illinois! ? still, if huskers follow their assignments, i still think they can come away with a big 'w'. 63-59 -
if the huskers can pull off wins against northwestern, then wisconsin it will make for some really interesting wbb coming up!!! +, no reason they can't win the next two!!! one game at a time, but, just don't overlook wiscy @madison.

5* Alexis Morris to Rutgers...(after being dismissed from Baylor) https://rutgers.forums.rivals.com/threads/alexis-morris-to-rutgers.160975/

huskers: 15-18 ft's ? sweet agree with some of the comments regarding substitutions. i understand coaches comments on how she needs everyone---but, there has been a few times i said to myself "why did you take her out?!?". i am sure all of you are aware of this, but, sports can be such a rhythm game. fans just wonder why take someone out when they have hit that rhythm? watched osu-michigan before husker game. i guess you could say michigan pulled out a "husker" win. played pretty lethargic for 3 quarters, then turned it up in the 4th quarter and pulled out a win. osu has been playing much better as the season has progressed. anyone else see the 3 pointer santoro(sp?) made with about a minute left? basketball never ceases to amaze. deep left corner and a very tough angle. banks it off the upper left hand corner of the backboard and it goes right through. i just thought she could never do that again in a thousand shots.

??? wow, wow, wow. glad you are ok. a little shaken, i am sure.
