  1. Benet Academy and Kathleen Doyle win back-to-back state championships. Doyle hit a couple of big 3's fairly late in the game. think she ended up with 24. also made 3-4 free throws in the last minute. skilled ball handler---good passer---can score from anywhere. no doubt will compete for the pg next season.
  2. depth, baby. d-e-p-t-h!
  3. as far as i am concerned, kind of a "good news bad news" deal----------good news: osu got blown out. bad news---------it was by msu (not a fan of powers and hines). i see hines finally got a 'T' for a little "extra curricular activity". granted, i have only seen a handful of their games the past couple years, but, i swear she has done that AT LEAST once in every game i saw. always thought she got away with too much garbage. think she would have at least got some warnings. it is very possible they were still stewing about blowing at least a tie for the 1 spot at the end of the season. not sure what mitchell ended up with but, think they said she had 8 and that was near the end of the 3rd quarter?
  4. i have directv and came across this listing: ch. 665 CSNCHD class 4A IHSA (8:30) so, i am assuming should be able to watch kathleen doyle tonight (sat)? just thought i would pass that along for anyone else with directv and sports package
  5. will just pass along matt coatney's comments about senior day. tifwiw-----he stated alicia decided not to participate in the senior day event because she had already participated in them with the volleyball squad. now, if there is any truth to the rumor floating out there, it's possible that may be the real reason why. the idea of applying for a medical crossed my mind almost immediately after i had seen the headlines. since i didn't see anything about that possibility, i just kinda blew it off as a moot point. since the topic has come up, anyone know about returning to action after having an achilles heal injury? i always thought that was a real difficult one to come back from-----i could be totally wrong. ok, found this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23733634
  6. http://host.madison.com/wsj/sports/college/basketball/women/badgers-women-s-basketball-barry-alvarez-wants-next-coach-to/article_28a3f626-53c1-5779-a77d-bc12dbb6c196.html
  7. shut down jess. if it was me, no way i play her even 1 minute with that stress fracture. all the huskers would need is for it to turn into a break! i would let it heal. as far as burns? it appears she is going to have a postseason procedure done. i would consider getting that done asap, so she can be ready for any offseason workouts she may have planned. maybe her procedure is no big deal, we don't know. we would have to know a little more about what she will be having done.
  8. anya had that virus, or, whatever------but, she also had a lower leg injury, didn't she?
  9. have to admit, burns disappearance (for the most part) puzzled me, too---------but, whadda i know. i did notice, early in the game when a Rutgers player (Copper?) went on her butt out of bounds, burns reached out to help her up------but the rutgers player wanted no part of it.
  10. if i remember correctly, purdue/indiana/michigan have the next best sagarin rpi's (in that order). no way does minny get in after getting knocked out right away. in fact, they probably had to win two to even get a mention. still think it will probably be between purdue and indiana.
  11. i'm kinda new to this stuff, so please bear with me. according to the link, i believe it will have live streaming of the Benet Academy (Kathleen Doyle) game tonight? anyway, just thought i would provide the link. i plan on checking it out later. http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/explore/upcoming/school/c7bbc393be never mind------takes you to a subscription page.
  12. not a big surprise. will be interesting to see the name(s) that come up. wonder if bollant might be next? that one would probably surprise me now---i didn't think he would survive that mess when it broke.
  13. huh. well, seems to be a reoccurring topic on this board.
  14. well, think coach could put a squad out there, but, i definitely would shut it down for ANYONE with an injury. let them do what they need to do to prepare for next season. let's see, you would have anya, cincore, woody, ramacieri, washington, maddie, nat, and probably havers? wouldn't allow for much subbing, but, guess you could do it. would think coaches will have a talk with the players.
  15. feel kinda bad for anyone with 65" or 70" screen---or more!!!
  16. Yes, i watched PSU-Illinois, but, have to admit wasn't "glued" to the set. didn't notice anything unusual. i wondered if nw would have the "legs" to finish this one out, especially without lyons---though, usually feel it the 3rd game. did a real good job on the boards. definitely put an end to any thoughts of minny making the big dance. anyone know when douglas was injured? just wondering if she had any shot at a medical? no matter what happens from here on out, nw has got to be feeling pretty good about next season. if they stay away from the injury bug, i would be very surprised to see a repeat of what happened this season. for gawd's sake, will someone from the minny athletic dept send stollings to a hairdresser-------every game i see her, it looks like she just rolled outta bed and jumped in the cab to the game!
  17. NW block. NW wins 76-72
  18. wisc scores 2, fouls deary. 73-72
  19. 73-70 NW deary makes both free throws. 25.9 sec left.
  20. 71-70 NW 26 sec Wisconsin foul
  21. 69-69 under 1:30
  22. WOW. wisconsin doesn't even get a shot off on final possession. terrible. overtime----BUT, Coffey has fouled out.
  23. tied at 65 1:02 NW ball
  24. 64-63 NW---under 2:00
  25. i thought matt and jeff stated she was having some problems with one of her legs during the nw-husker game. jeff stated she had been grabbing at it now and then. believe jeff referenced her "upper" leg. nw has been "huskeresque" with the injury problems this season.
