  1. That would be strange to transfer back to the school he transferred from 3 years ago. I hope this doesn't mean that things aren't looking good for Deng and Cornish. Kreklow doesn't seem to be much of a scoring threat, but he could add depth behind Petteway and Shields.
  2. I caught some of his presser over lunch. While didn't use the word "baseline", but he did promise an exciting uptempo style - "they're fixin' to run". One interesting thing he said, is that he learned from Coach Hoiberg that there is no such thing as a bad shot. That if they miss, just tell them that they'll make the next one. So it sounds like he may give his guys more freedom to take quick shots than he did here.
  3. I guarantee that Southern Miss fans are going to love Doc after his press conference today. His folksy personality will really resonate with the people down there. Also, it will be interesting to see if he brings any of his old staff from Nebraska with him.
  4. Southern Miss loses 4 of 5 starters. He will have his work cut out for him next year.
  5. Let's not pencil him into the lineup just yet:
  6. I believe those numbers for Deng were his freshman year correct? I have to imagine he put up more than 10 points a game with some of the numbers that were coming out on twitter. He had a three game stretch where he averaged like 40 points a game. Yes those are his freshman stats This year he averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds a game.
  7. He did shoot 51% from 3-point range. He could develop into an Ethan Wragge type.
  8. How can he take all these official visits during the middle of the week? Is attendance optional at his JUCO?
  9. I don't think he's visiting this weekend. He tweeted this morning that he's helping out with a Special Olympics event today.
  10. It is his alma mater I believe. That would make sense then. Otherwise I don't understand taking a job at a struggling NAIA program in the middle of nowhere. As for the salary, I believe the previous coach made about $50,000. So his salary probably won't change much.
  11. Interesting. I would think he could get a much better job than Peru State.
  12. Coach Miles said that everyone will be picking us too high next year......I think around 4th-5th is more realistic
  13. I wonder why Cuonzo isn't recruiting him to Cal? New Tennessee coach Donnie Tyndall told Cornish he was still wanted, but Cornish favors coach Cuonzo Martin, who left for California. “I signed to play for coach Martin,'' Cornish said. “I'm sorry how all this turned out. Vols Nation will always be in my heart.'' If Cuonzo had room to take a major project like Kingsley Okoroh to Cal, you'd think he'd find a spot for Cornish.
  14. Because he looks as skinny as Brian Diaz in the videos I've seen of him. He is not physically ready for the Big Ten.
  15. I'm a little concerned that nobody else seems to be recruiting Ayegba. Graduate transfers with his size don't grow on trees. You'd think if he has any talent, that a lot of teams would be after him.
  16. According to this site, he shot about 45% from the field with Waikato. Not bad for a 17-year old in a pro league. Certainly better than the 30% he shot this year. I just think with Tai getting adjusting to new surroundings here, it wasn't wise to tinker with his shooting form during the season. Do that in the offseason if you want to. But I really think it messed with his confidence/mind this year. You could tell late in the season that he didn't believe he could make a shot.
  17. The bigger question is why Tulsa would hire Frank Haith. He's a mediocre coach who has committed NCAA violations.
  18. I still don't know why they would mess with Tai's shooting mechanics - the kid shot 62% from 3s during the Olympic trials. Leave his shot alone. I really believe 90% of shooting is mental/confidence. Heck, I've seen plenty of female players with "questionable" form that shoot lights out. Having a consistent and comfortable release is the most important thing.
  19. A lot of similarities between Domingo and Tai Webster, according to this article: Domingo made just 3 of 27 three-point attempts over two years at Georgetown. Although he was given generous minutes right away, Domingo didn't appear to be ready for the college game. His shot was off, and he struggled to affect the game in other ways. His confidence appeared to wane, and he did not play meaningful minutes during conference play.
