  1. I really do not have a problem with all the substitutions. I do have many issues with the lack of identity. Rolling in that many bodies should keep people fresh. The benefit with fresh bodies is the ability to defend. We should be able to harass the other team the whole 40 minutes and grind them into a fine pulp. We do not do that, most the time we lay off of them and depend on the three offensively, so they really aren't forced to defend us either and probably more importantly no physicality required If we are going to play that many bodies, drop the hammer on defense. If we are going to play the three ball fewer bodies and more rhythm needed Quite personally, I would much rather more subs, MORE driving and dishing to wear them out and above all else drop the hammer on defense. A real heavy hammer
  2. By my estimation, this loss really puts our back against the wall, so the noticeable angst on the board is to be expected. Here's how I see it. We need now to win 9 of the next 12. That or hope for a nice run in the Big 10 tourney. Short that we will probably be outside looking in. Considering the fact we play Iowa twice, that really means throwing out those 2 games out and going 9 of our next 10. Time to back our team all the more and hope they figure out both a sense of urgency and their shooting woes.
  3. We shot 33.9% and had 16 turnovers and still won some how. It looked like poor shooting was a contagion. Miss White missed 3 open layups, Miss Nissely missed 2 of the more open 3's she's gong to have this year, AM's issues have been well enough documented above and Miss Potts only hit 3 of 10. All I can say is way not to let an off night shooting destroy your grit ladies. Regardless it's still a real nice win.
  4. Nice first 5 sloppy second 5. Guess we want to play a close one.
  5. If I'm remembering correctly Illinois was the preseason number 5. They also played Indiana within 6pts., so I'm thinking this will probably be a much tougher game than the records indicate. Cheer loud for, whoever is going to make it

Short of Walz not really interested in bringing in someone new and shaking up the program. I like Coach Williams and the program she's building. I new and hope everyone else new she would have to grow into the job as she wasn't a finished product. That being said I really wish she would bring in someone who understands defense and defensive game planning, cause we just really don't.
  7. I thought we defended poorly. We allowed too much space. When a team comes in shooting 50% (+) on the year.... I thought we should've been in 3 out zone and having the mentality of hammering whatever comes in your zone, ball or not. That would have allowed help on Holmes, who really is just flat out good. I did love what we did in the press at the end of the game. I did like most of what we did offensively except, we need more things driving to the rack, at very least we'd get to the charity stripe
  8. 3 pts. This is very poor play. Most morgues have more energy than we're playing with
  9. The big problem is going forward it really puts us behind the 8 ball. Win we have to be around .500 for conference. Now we have to go 10-8 minimum and more likely 11-7 to go dancing in March
  10. We actually had more rebounds, less turnovers and as many assists. I wish I could have seen the game. By the numbers we should have won. Poor shooting was the problem. The question is did we take poor shots or were they just not falling? Here is my problem. When you have one of the nations top shooters by percentage, why is she only getting 3 shots.
  11. I think the next 4 games should be real telling on where we are and where we going. I think the first half of the GTU game was the wake up call we've been needing and the second was the response and since of urgency we've been needing to see
  12. Really really impressed how we turned this around.... I really thought we were a dead stick until the 6 minute mark of the third. Thank you Miss Coley for the change of energy and fortune.
  13. Some coaching and an offensive game plan could possibly help. First half OUCH
  14. I think there were a few issues with game planning. 1) they are going to come out shooting 3's and they are going to get off to a hot start on us. If we haven't figured that out by now, we just really aren't capable of planning. 2) if we're going to commit people to full court "D", put some pressure on and make the other team work. Maybe a trap or two would be good 3) you have deeper bench and they're in big foul trouble..... do I really need to explain what to do in this situation Enough with the issues. Our women really did play great. When our 3's were failing to find homes, I really did expect to be blown out. Instead we played really well. Well enough to win. Seriously if we'd have sunk our free throws, we'd of won. We do have an NCAA caliber team. I plan to and hope everyone else is planning to enjoy them.
  15. Not sure about size, but length and athleticism with an emphasis on athleticism. I've watched Britt Prince play enough to know she's best in transition that is why I'm so excited for people like Miss Potts who can really get up and down the court really and offer some pretty good length. I also think Miss White's up and down speed is essential in terms of transitioning our team into a faster tempo future.
  16. Hard to tell what we have. The second half was soooo sloppy. On offense too many people doing too many different things. The two bright spots. 1) we get back much quicker in transition 2) how well Miss Potts runs the floor both offensively and defensively
  17. We discussed this on another thread and shared our opinions. Rest assured White, Jaz and Markowski will be starters. Potts or Stewart will be the other four. I'm guessing Potts just because of the versatility factor, but Stewart looked a bit more trimmed down and quicker coupled with her ability to shoot the 3 ball, so I would definitely count her in the mix. The three spot or wing looks to be pretty wide open playing with 3 guards or traditional wing. Traditional would look more like Coley or Moriarty and playing 3 guards looks more like Krull or Nissley. I hope this helps, but I'm sure I cleared this up to a nice mud puddle.
  18. If you have top10 facilities, top10 venues and top10 fan support you should expect a top10 program. Based on what I'm seeing recruiting, we are upticking. The bad news is so is the rest of the league (Maryland is no more the automatic number one). So the question really is are we moving ahead of the class or not? If not we really have to coach the heck out and/or develope the heck out of the team. Whether this staff is up to the task or not, I'm going to say it's still incomplete. But no my expectations are I guess much higher than most of the people on this page obviously
  19. nothing shocking there, fly over country doesn't get the attention that the east and west coast do
  20. I am reasonably sure Krull will be the starter to start off with unless Weidner goes very far very fast in her rehab and regaining of confidence I think Potts will be the starter, but really only because she can get up and down the court quicker. That makes her a better match White assuming White is our starting one. Then of course Jaz and Markowski will be rounding out the starting five
  21. The thing that makes me more curious are the players who may want to come along. Ie perhaps someone like Miss Guyton is waiting to see if Miss Prince comes here so they can form a dynamic back court for multiple years together. The longer you wait the spots for both could disappear
  22. This might actually be a recruiting steal. Better than expected handles and athleticism.
  23. Hmm....... A back court of Brit Prince, Aaliyah Guyton and Allison Weidner as a senior..... Well a guy can dream

  25. speaking of in state talent, our softball team may have gone from upper division to odds on favorite in the B1G
