Nebraska (23-11) vs. Oregon St. (25-7) Game Thread

Next year......really depends how Weidner comes back. If she comes back 100%, we get serious upgrade athletically. She and Prince can really pick em up and put down. -

Loving our defensive effort. We need shooting and for AM to pass rather than taking all the off balance shots. -

We need someone hot beyond the arc. They are much bigger than us, so we're going to have to create space in the paint. Two or three hot beyond the arc would be better -
Thanks, I was just hoping to see a bracket that didn't have us facing SC in the second round

The sports programs seem to be on an upswing, the huge stadium expansion is well in the works and he's paid very well at his alma mater. None of this makes any sense to me, so it leaves me with this speculation. How rotten are the apples in the administration apple cart?

Where are you finding this bracket, every bracket I've seen has us playing KU first round and South Carolina second round, including Charlie Creme bracketology sight. I'm not being argumentative just trying to find it

Lots to digest here. We played much better than I expected and showed much more heart than I expected. My son me athalf and asked what I thought. I told him we're ahead, but as soon as Iowa makes run we won't have legs enough to respond having played one more game. Somehow we just did respond and very well. If Iowa didn't own the crowd I think we'd have won. In over time we played well, I think Iowa leaned into their experience and just had to big of a gap. Playing bigger games, playing under more pressure etc.... The thing I really hated was my same gripe, they just won't let us play physical on the blocks and they allow our opponents to do so. Bottom line I applaud the women on a great effort and a great tournament

Iowa is a tough ask and considering it's their third and our fourth game, I just don't see. Luckily for us I'm often wrong

What I really find annoying is that those same talking heads have MSU at 7. The disrespect To quote Major League....... "It's settled we're going to have to win the whole f#$%ing thing"

Hope so you win 22 in power 5, you've earned something. I wish we could take back the Ritgers game

Maryland (17-12) vs. Nebraska (21-10) Game Thread

I give Michigan zero chance, but then again stranger things have happened. -
Not for nothing, but I've loved Hake's play throughout this tournament. Not much for stat stuffing, but very smart

Smart foul by Nissley. It stopped an obvious break -

I can't really say the calls are bad, but they seem to be allowing Maryland to play with more physicality -

They've ramped up the D this quarter and we're handling it poorly -
In the tournament they have 5 averaging double digits. I'm not sure I like the idea of trying to stop one, that in truth is not their leading scorer in the tourney. I do, however, like the idea of boxing them out of the paint. In my honest opinion I think the team that wins the rebounding battle wins the game. Though game three you're now getting into who has the legs to battle and who has the legs set their feet to shoot. Hopefully we have the fresher legs. Of their starting five, four of them have 70+ minutes. Our starters should be in much better shape save Jaz's 74 minutes
-
Oh we're in. An MSU victory would be the difference roughly be between a 6 and 9 seed.
-
Truthfully more should be made out of new comer of the year, rather than Freshman of the year as people become more and more dependent on the portal.
-
Better quarter, post are still late sealing off on the dribble penetration
-
Some defense would be nice.

I thought hoping she does for the team one of my all time favs did was a good chance. In truth NU would not gotten to the NCCA, without Emily Wood's energy and leadership.
-
Have not yet seen her play. Hoping she can be like Emily Wood. Lot's of energy, lot's of hustle and just a bit of a hard ass edge. Coming off the bench like that can change a game for the positive.

You're probably correct in your statements. I was a junior in high school when Ivy graduated. I was watching her in the class A semifinals and it was like watching a goddess among children. I still do not think Britt matches her for quickness and hops. That be said, I'm not really sure I've seen anyone play a smooth and relaxed as Britt in Nebraska.

If you're as old as I am..........Maurtice Ivy was as good if not better
-
I'm not much of a portal guy. That being said I would like a big. A clear out, rebounding.....box out machine. Not worried about scoring, so much as clearing out for AM and company and turn some offensive glass into opportunities for our 3pt. crew
