  1. Mia culpa: I took a photo of Joseph Hedstrom at the game and erroneously tweeted it as Josh Pitts. Oops. And sorry-for-the-error.
  2. Let's try again:
  3. In process of editing.
  4. FYI. A Syracuse fan attended practice on Friday and offers the following individual analysis: Andrew White- this guy is all business. He should show up to practice and games in a suit and tie and a briefcase. Never cracks a smile, but was vocal on defense and works hard in all the drills and 5 on 5. The thing that stood out to me (again, small sample size) is that when he can just simply catch and shoot...wow! He is lethal and doesn't need much time or space to get his 3pt shot off. However, when he has to put it on the floor he seemed uncomfortable. He isn't real fluid and doesn't seem to want to attack the hoop, rather pull up for jumpers off one or two dribbles. Defensively, I was reminded of the NFL draft analysts that talk about whether or not a DB has "fluid hips" that allow change directions quickly. White seems to lack this ability on defense, and was easily beaten off the dribble when they were working on their full court press. However, this didn't seem to be as much of an issue in the half court, and I think he'll do just fine no matter if he's on the top or bottom of the zone. Regardless, he is gonna be a major factor in spacing the floor on offense this year.
  5. A real team player who wants to make transitions go well and do his best for the team . . . not: "I knew the players at the schools I was looking at were all working out at their schools,'' White said. "I knew when I got to school there would be a transition in terms of the strength and conditioning program. I wanted to be in good shape, but I wanted to be fresh so instead of lifting weights, I used boxing for all my strength and conditioning."
  6. Gotta love this from the article: “Quite frankly, I think they have been grossly underrated,” Nebraska Coach Tim Miles said of pundits’ preseason prognostications. “Any media report is basically throwing dirt in our face and burying us alive.”
  7. Here's a Youtube link:
  8. Morrow is a 5. Always has been.
  9. From Samford's roster bio: High School: Chose to attend Samford over interest from West Virginia, South Carolina, Wake Forest and George Washington among a number of additional suitors . . . attended Paul VI High School where he finished his senior season as the top-rated point guard in Virginia and as the seventh-best player in the state according to ESPN . .
  10. From Robin: "Freshman Jeriah Horne . . . spent most of the day working with the guards . . . he does have a nice perimeter shot and is deceptively explosive driving to the basket."
  11. Recruiting high-caliber players is most-definitely "results" . . . but I know you mean win-loss results. Nonetheless, I've seen great progress for Nebrasketball under the current regime. Whoever wants to wallow in dread and gloom -- have at it. After all, that's the natural state of an anonymous board like this. But I have been . . . and am going to continue . . . enjoying the ride on the upward trajectory that is Nebrasketball..
  12. The last two recruiting classes are darn-good substance -- not merely "some substance.".
  13. Edit: The link doesn't work. Never mind.
  14. On the other hand, his twitter front page says, "Raleigh," and he says he missed Raleigh when away at school.
  15. Revised version: 1. Our three freshmen need to contribute and gel as the season goes along 2. Our four sophomores, who saw lots of minutes last year, need to make steady improvement 3. Gill needs to be productive 4. Tai needs to provide leadership
  16. Here is a new Rivals article on his recruitment: https://ncstate.rivals.com/news/thomas-allen-excited-about-visiting-hometown-nc-state Here is a blurb from the article: "Allen visited Nebraska on Sept. 16-18 and caught up with Raleigh native Anton Gill, a redshirt junior shooting guard for the Cornhuskers. Former NC State director of operations Kenya Hunter is recruiting him for Nebraska. . . . “The Nebraska trip was really good and they just came up today [Wednesday],” Allen said. “The facilities are good, I like the coaching staff and everybody was cool. Gill was telling me it’s a great spot.
