It's a good idea, but will there be any 'open' seats to make said move a reality... aye, there's the rub!
-
No, that's what will likely happen. Logic will simply have to prevail. The spanning from coast to coast will be a B1G challenge. It will be pods, in a way... scheduling will somewhat favor the "new 4" teams because they won't be at a sizeable disadvantage by coming in as a foursome at the same time. If it were just USC & UCLA, they'd have been somewhat screwed. But, now that the west coast has 4 teams, it should make a set of 4 games on the road trip to the west almost like an "NBA Lite" type of scheduling. I'd imagine that the Dec. timeframe will include a four-game set, instead of 2, primarily due to this quirk of having the west-coast swing in the schedule for 4 B1G teams, which I'd imagine NU will be one of the 4 since we're close to the west coast, relatively speaking. I'm not saying I know, I'm totally speculating... I find that procedure fascinating, however it occurs.

10 years ago, and they tanked... then, again, after getting shafted in 2018, they were pre-season ranked (again), which is ironic, huh? I am very optimistic, felt that way leaving FedEx Forum. Yeah, it hurts for Keisei, loved that kid. He deserved to have his One Shining Moment. A statue, the whole nine yards. Maybe the dudes who finish up next year will get that feeling of finally getting that 800# gorilla off of NU's back. I wonder going forward how the team will proceed after that game on Fri. it seems like Juwan Gary will make sure the guys work their butts off to get back to March Madness. I think they can do it, but they need some DUDES. Hoiberg & Co. are positioned to get some guys who can be better than the talent we had this past season, but how it all comes together will be very interesting. I believe that WE WILL WIN! Rinse, repeat. LET'S GO, BIG RED! LET'S GO!

It's too bad he wound up out of the rotation... but, tbh, Dalano Banton's role diminished too at NU. Proves that the pro leagues are looking for specific skill sets as opposed to a team concept with a lot of variables (and varying talent) that must mesh at the college level.

Well, starting 5-5 on threes, then proceeding to not hit the broad side of a barn was an issue, including 2 massive stuffed shots from the land of plenty... NU went 2 for 17 after that sparkling 5-5. So, offense in the flow of a game is a concern, because DEFENSIVE stops needed to occur in order to make it a real contest. Add into that NU made 22 for 24 on FTs, and that 83 points isn't as impressive, as oh say, NINETY-EIGHT (in back-to-back games) for the opponent. Sheesh, that was tough to watch A&M just attack with little shot-blocking or defensive rebounding... athleticism needs to be better on the boards, at minimum. Jo Allick did what he could, but A&M had 4-5 guys even more athletic than him. It's a dicey conundrum for Hoiberg, improve athleticism while maintaining elite shot-making and elite IQ. He'll figure it out, I have no doubt. GBR Always.

That's interesting... so, I take it that it's a numbers game... UW bringin' in someone better?!?
-
Agreed, no one's calling for a roster make-over. It's just obvious that NU needs a few DUDES. It can happen. I'm probably just as if not more concerned that guys like Rienk and Brice come back for their final year of eligibility. NU will be fine, in time. I have no doubt that Hoiberg & Co. will figure it out like they have for the past 2 off-seasons. GBR Always.

Chucky would fit in well with William Kyle and Frankie Fidler... I wouldn't hate it. I'd also love one of A&M's guard and a big, too. If we had 5 slots to fill, that is....

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 34- Texas A&M

I wondered about that, too. I just don't assume it's that, but it certainly could be. That's too bad that KT endures that stuff, no matter the reason. He is such a stud baller. I love that kid. -
Agreed, but the talent deficit was particularly obvious in person in Memphis. Both A&M and Houston have a BUNCH of dudes....
-
Things change, particularly 4 years later, dudes become dudes in time.
-
Man, how disappointing for Memphis, only Nebraska showed up in full force! The attendance was generally atrocious. Why the NCAA puts these 1st/2nd rd. games in NBA cities is beyond me.... I did really enjoy Memphis, personally, but again, we were only there for 18 hrs. lol

Saw him in the Omaha bracket. He's got a lot of bounce. I'd take him in Lincoln, stat!

It kinda sucked big-time, Eli Rice could have sorely helped NU when teams D'ed up C.J. hard. He would have been a nice change-of-pace.... oh well, next year. Always lookin' to next year. Cubbies fans know how that wound up in '16. There's always hope, Big Red. Keep Grindin'!!!
-
C.J. could do a few things, but he's cement-in-boots slow... I'd advocated for bringing in Cliff from R.U. and was resoundingly trolled for it. It was rather obvious after being in Memphis that BIG dudes that the likes of A&M and Houston both had, NU clearly doesn't. Brice is the only guy the Huskers had who could get to the cup.... it was OBVIOUS that the Huskers will need a sizeable athletic upgrade to go with elite shot-making of KT. Skill is nice, but you gotta have the Jimmys and Joes to compete in big-time basketball. I hope a good mixture of guys who can play soild D and make buckets, both qualities mastered by the same dude!!

He's a scrawny kid from Japan.... and he likes to have fun & chirps a bit, so basically, he doesn't look the "part." That's my best guess. It is a weird fetish to troll him, in my humble opinion. -

The last two games, by the half: ILL 40 - 58 A&M 58 - 40 None of that was good enough. -

FAU's Dusty May is a solid, on-the-rise coach in the industry...

All of that. Freddy's trajectory is rising but we need some B1G dudes. Watching a lot of good teams the several days proved that! Sent from my SM-A426U using Tapatalk

It sucked last night in Memphis, but I left optimistic if NU can get a guard like #4 or #23 as well as a Cliff O. from R.U. and retain the other NU dudes, they'll be back to having a crack at it next year. -

They'll throw up bricks, but it's because HOU DEFENSE is suffocating. I was impressed. Sent from my SM-A426U using Tapatalk
