The Nebraska WBB program is on solid ground. We have demonstrated this past season we can play with the best (Iowa) and lose to the worst (Rutgers) or get blown out when not ready to play (Ohio St). So there is still work to be done. With the West Coast teams entering that work became much more difficult. Juju Watkins will be a matchup nightmare for every B1G team. I think we will be competitive and maybe that’s the most we can expect.

Edward’s had knocked Marshall down earlier in the game and no foul was called. I think it was a foul but the inconsistent application of the rules is maddening and leads to the wild conspiracy theories flying around social media. It detracts from the solid job Marshall did guarding Bueckers, those key turn around jumpers by Martin and the solid game by Iowa’s post player.

Wish her well. More important than she can live a long and healthy life rather than be able to play basketball. It’s remarkable she was able to perform at such a high level.

Basketball is incredibly difficult to officiate. I want to believe they are all honest and trying to do their best. That being said, I am often mystified by calls, particularly by officials not in the best position to make the call. How a game is called should be consistent all 40 minutes.

Bueckers v Clark should be a great matchup.

Like it or not, Iowa’s coaching staff does a great job teaching fundamentals. Case in point, Iowa scored several times beating LSU down the floor catching long passes and putting the ball in the basket. Catching the ball is an underrated skill. Clearly Iowa lacked the athleticism of the Tigers but by being sound, competitive and skilled they earned a win. Yes, they have Clark but the other players contributed to the win. The O’Grady girl played big minutes off the bench.

Buzz is a Texan.

Jaz played nearly 38-40 minutes a game. I am wondering who will take that role? The substitution pattern probably helped us in some games and seems to be good for team morale. I think Alexis wants to be good and she will work in improving in the post. She has to as the caliber of post play is going up in the B1G. We have a good core group of players. Can we blend in transfers that will make a major impact without disrupting team chemistry. I would certainly like us to pursue Amoore, from Va Tech. She is an Australian but might follow her coach to Kentucky. Iowa is showing that you don’t have to extremely athletic to win. Those girls battle and hustle.

This end of game between Duke and NC State game is awful. I hate games with this continual fouling. You are beat Duke, give it up.

Sorry, I didn’t pay much attention to who the officials were.

I would have loved for that kid from Aurora to have chosen Nebraska. He did become a third team All American so he didn’t do badly.

Illinois has nothing to be ashamed about. Losing in the Elite 8 isn’t bad. UConn is playing on another level. Alabama is the next victim.

Indiana battled against South Carolina. The big girl for South Carolina is huge. She dwarfed Holmes of IU. IU has some nice younger players on the bench. They will be decent next year but the B1G is going to be very strong. UCLA didn’t get the best of the officiating but they let the game get away in the last few minutes.

Mulkey is a performer but her coaching record speaks for itself. Sometimes, like all of us do, her mouth engages before her brain thinks.

Duke has had their share of bad boys. If Shead didn’t get hurt Houston wins. Go State, keep the Pukies out.

Oregon St hits timely threes, executes well late in the game and advances past the Irish.
