  1. It may have been better than watching basketball wannabees dunking with the assistance of trampolines. I have heard that there is a write in campaign to bring the shim-sham dancers back...
  2. Regional champ!!!
  3. Mocs played good defense. They were offensively challenged sans their point guard. Good win. Win and advance.
  4. Technically, wasn't the Purdue game a neutral site game?
  5. It is my understanding they run a 4 guard starting line up.
  6. As to the weather topic...growing up in rural Nebraska, early in my life I learned that everyone in Nebraska had an opinion on the weather and each person was right about 50% of the time. The truth is that there are hints in the weather patterns that can help determine what is going to happen...
  7. To be fair, we did look like a bottom feeder versus MSU. After Indiana, not so much.
  8. After a night's sleep, here are a few more random thoughts: * Andrew Morgan is a vital cog on this team. He is an athletic big; as is Berke. Meah has a role and will help us as well. So we have three bigs that seemingly continue to grow into their roles. Andrew is prone to fouling early, so I kind of understand him coming off the bench. Meah had some ugly turnovers last night. That has to stop. * Gavin will be interesting to watch. At this moment, he seems void of athleticism. It has a certain cringe factor. I still believe in him; but he currently has lost his rotational role. Cale looks sooo much more comfortable on the court and seems set in the ten man rotation. * We need Williams and Gary to stay consistently on top of their games to be successful. * Connor has stepped up big time. I'm actually not talking about his shot (although he has taken that to another level as well, by his ability to penetrate and finish). No, I am talking about his defense and rebounding. He is, by no means, a great defender and rebounder, but he is in the mix going for boards and he now seems to understand our defense and the effort is there. That said, he was beaten, pretty badly, on a couple occasions. (But not as badly as Rice de-jock strapping Uhlis on the top of the key in the 2nd half ).
  9. I am somewhat proud of my prediction... Us 75 Them 68
  10. Just another note; there were a few times where we broke down defensively, and again when rebounding. Other times we got a bit lazy after an offensive set and they simply beat us down the court. I guess what I am saying is that we ran away from them the last five minutes, despite playing much less than perfect.
  11. Man oh man, that was fun! Hoosier daddy!!!! We won going away despite way too many turnovers and below average free throw shooting. Indiana wanted physical, and we gave them what they wanted. Bryce was an animal today. Dude, bring that game every night. Really like Connor and Andrew as well. That is two Big Ten games in a row that he brought his lunch pail to work. Gotta love it!
  12. Who is leaving from Creighton?
  13. I won't make excuses on her behalf; but game action is obviously different than "shoot around" practice. In a game you get contact and/or you expect contact. It alters your touch and it can alter your release. She has great teachers at UNL and her dad played and coached college ball and has taught her the tricks of the trade. So in my humble tiny mind, it is not her shot or touch; but more so her brain is in overdrive. She is trying to think the ball into the hoop, rather than allow her training and muscle memory to complete the shot. Again, just an opinion.
  14. It was a win. Win and advance. But man, what a sleepy, uninspired performance.
  15. I believe he is heading to Central Missouri to play basketball
  16. That's an image of a prediction from the heart rather than the brain.
  17. Ummmmm. It has disintegrated in all sports. Ya know, technology is now available to reduce the bad calls. Patrons go to the games to see the players, the competition, the athletism and the artistry. It is time to change how officiating takes place (and I'm old school)
  18. She was on the floor before the game ( I believe it was her) and she had a muscle stimulator on her mid-section. Not sure what that means, but i thought I would mention it. I am not in the same camp regarding the substitution pattern. I would rather look at it that she is leveraging her depth and keeping players fresh. I haven't looked at overall minutes...how does that look?
  19. I think she is close. She still looks a tad hesitant to mix things up, and she still seems a bit slower. I think her recovery is amazing.
  20. We did not just beat Minnesota, we bludgeoned them. Their coach was p*ssed from beginning to end. Nice win ladies...very nice win. That said, Alexis is still not 100% on her game. She is closer than many think, but she a quarter turn off. When she gets going, we're going to be hard to beat. Lastly, we turned the ball over 20+ times. Think about that...we still blew them out. We need to work to reduce that turnover number.
  21. I chose to take a little time before responding to this beat down; but * Michigan State is better than I thought. They played hard-ass basketball, played much harder than us, and hit their shots. Congratulations to them. * The refs did set the tone of this game with their calls and lack of calls. * We played like a disorganized disaster. That is on both the staff and players. * I give credit to Morgan, he was the one player who played decently. * I do not often say the following, at least lately, this team was not ready to play, and they quit in the second half. * Without calling out the players individually, there better be some soul searching taking place on the flight home. We have players who do not understand what it is going to take to win in this conference. Some should understand, which is disconcerting. We may even have a player or two that should not be playing at this level. Deep breath, hopefully this is an aberration and we will take it out on Indiana.
  22. This is a very disheartening loss. We simply look overwhelmed.
