Still settling for 3 pointers. Luckily we were fouled and made them. -

They are getting drives going to the basket. We need to start setting up drives for ourselves. -

STOP SHOOTING 3s! I thought we had an advantage inside and driving to the rim? WTH! -

What is the teams mindset going to be to start the game? Against OSU you could tell their hair was fire. Their effort was ridiculously high. -

I got to say, I am more nervous about this game than any I have been in years. If we lose we have a bad loss and the negativity will start to come. Expectations suck! -
Cold water, we are +5 dogs to Penn State
PimpMario replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I agree with most of that. The other thing to consider is that if we lose we will have our second bad loss on a resume. -
Maybe you should make this statement after we have won a few games. I mean if we lose tonight we suck. 1-5 in the B1G with a game against a very good Minnesota team on the horizon. It is less about finishing mid pack and more about picking up some solid wins, avoiding bad losses (like PSU) and getting a respectable RPI. To do that we would probably have to finished 5th-7th in the conference. The reach the middle of the pack from a 1-4 start is so freaking long and tough that it is mind boggling how dismissively people talk about it.

After reading this board the last couple of days i figured we had a really good shot to beat PSU. I was somewhat surprised to see them favored by 5 last night. Just because we can win doesn't mean we will. Coin flips don't always go your way. After doing some research it seems one of the reasons that our RPI is so high is because we have lost to so many good teams. -
We have at least 1 bad loss. UAB is 134 in RPI. And Purdue is 99 so they could very easily end up as being a bad loss.

Holy crap people. Way to get ahead of ourselves!

[FALSE] - PBA putting an end to storming the court

OSU wasn't any place close to top 10. They are barely still top 25. -

This X1,000,000. For what they charge, you would think you are getting NY Strip Steak. My son and I ate there at the first game we went to and he told me that next time, we should eat somewhere before we go. lol...but from what I've heard on the board...the buffet for the people that have the $$$ to pay for the box seats is pretty good. Guess that is where they are putting all the time to getting correct. I sit in the club seats and the buffet isn't actually very good. For $26 you get to eat all the hot dogs, burgers and some sides. The side sides are usually decent. You can also get cookies. They serve some of the same food they do at the concession stands you just get as much as you want. -
EDIT: We are +4.5 to +5 dogs. We actually have to go out on the floor and beat Penn State. They aren't going to just give us the win. I think we are getting way way ahead of ourselves. This is still Nebraska basketball. I think a lot of us would be served if we just took took some deep breaths and took a step back. We are 9-8 and 1-4. If we lose to Penn State we are in a dog fight to stay out of the cellar. We have a shot to beat Penn State, but even with a shot it is still more likely we lose. We are all pretty high right now but if we lose to PSU we cannot let it crater our hopes for a positive rebuilding year.

if we want any hope of either gonig on a run OR getting a road win we need this win. Penn State is very beatable and we need this game. They are streaky because they shoot a lot of 3s, and we all know if they are falling we could get shellshocked quickly.

I like Rey a lot. Having said that, the less this team has to rely on him hitting shots to get us going on offense the better we will be next year! -

Mike Peltz taking a bullet for a teammate!
PimpMario replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I wonder if, through our Scarlet and Cream colored glasses, we see that as a "great hustle play" but others would see it as shady and dirty as the Gibbs flying suplex of Petteway earlier this season. I still stood up and cheered when it happened! I don't see it that way and I don't think any reasonable basketball fan of neither team would view those plays in the same light. Peltz was able to get down court fast enough to make an actual play on the ball -- not even a hard foul -- that prevented an easy layup and forced Craft to get the points at the line instead. Two things separate what Peltz did from what Gibbs did: 1) not a "hard" foul; and 2) actual play on the ball. The two aren't even comparable in my opinion. I would have to agree with Norm. But I am a homer. It did look to me like Peltz deliberately cut off Smith, but maybe that was because he thought he had a better play or because he didn't think Smith was going to actually block the shot. I have never had a problem with fouling a shooter at the rim, but if you are going to do it DO NOT let the ball have a chance to go in. -
Sorry to be lazy, but which games do they have us winning and which ones do they have us losing? Thanks in advance for doing the work for me. Win every home game except wiscy.... Lose every road game We always get a ranked team at home and lose 2 or 3 we shouldn't at home. So accounting for OSU and Michigan we will lose 1 to 2 more at home. We need to get 1-2 wins on the roach. This place needs some cold water.

Hell, yes. That's the best part about him. My outlook on him is a lot brighter. Hopefully Miles can continue to coach him. Last night at the start of the second half he turned the ball over twice in a minute, got pulled. He came back in pretty quickly and turned it over again. It Petteway can work on his turnovers, his attitude when things don't go his way, and improve his 3 point shot he could be really special by his senior year. -
He has bad knees. Really wish this kid could play 35+ minutes.
