Is there any info on Cole Klemke? I was wondering why he hasn't had a chance to play. We've used everyone, but him in right field this year. I tried searching to see if something was up, but didn't find anything.
The story of the night:
Points in the paint:
MSU 42
NU 28
2nd chance points:
MSU 18
NU 3
MSU converted their offensive rebounds and kept us out of the paint.
Actually, the game played out basically the same way Kansas played out. Kansas got a big halftime lead. We made a little run to cut it to about 14, and then Kansas never let us get back into it. The Creighton game, we were within range at halftime, and then Creighton took over in the 2nd half.
Michigan State had a game plan tonight we weren't ready for. We didn't make enough shots to get them out of this game plan. They did not give us driving lanes, and dared us to shoot from the outside. We clanked a lot of shots. Then, on offense, they pounded it inside. They killed us in the paint.
Whoever this analyst on at halftime is terrible. Keeps preaching about Nebraska winning 3 straight, when in fact we won 2 straight. Now, just called Northwestern's coach, Doug Collins. It is Chris Collins.
Should have brought Watson back, and took our chances. Now, we have him starting the 2nd half with 2 fouls, but are down 18. It doesn't do us any favors to have him with 2 fouls, when playing him could have kept us in the game.
You are never going to forgive Miles for the Ohio State loss at home. How about the coaching job at the end of the game in Columbus? That was a great plan. They locked up on the shooters and forced Tate to take a contested 3. Something he struggles with.
We are winning this game at the free throw line. 8-9 from the line, while PSU is 2-6. 7 turnovers is too many. Need to clean that up, and we should be able to win this game.
Nebraska and Penn State have matched up 4 times, in Lincoln, since we joined the conference. Free throw attempts are odd. Both teams attempted 48, 73, 71, and 22 in those games. In fact, we shot 48 times from the line, in 2013-14.
That is my # 1 reason for keeping Miles. I think he has shown players improve under him, and he has recruited really well. I don't really want to go through more rebuilding process. The problem is do we have a slam dunk coach who is coming here and can guarantee NCAA tourney teams? I think we have to go to a mid major coach and cross our fingers hoping it will finally work out. If that's the case, just stick with Miles, and see if the sophomore class lives up to it's billing.
