  1. I repeat... Can we grab a rebound?
  2. Talley got bailed out on that one.
  3. Can we grab a rebound?
  4. They're gonna shoot a ton of free throws this half...
  5. Big Ten refs suck.
  6. Before the season, I would have put the over-under for Big Ten wins at two. I might have taken the under.
  7. Not sure I would have fouled Mbakwe with 5 seconds left. They were destroying us on offensive rebounds on missed free throws in the second half.
  8. Wisconsin is only a game out of first place (in the loss column). They still have a shot at a tie for 1st place w/ several teams. Bo Ryan will be B1G Coach of the Year. And, for B1G Player of the Year, I'd take Trey Burke. The Mythagain PG is a very, very good table-setter and scorer. Good call, I was just looking at how many teams were listed ahead of the Badgers in the standings. Didn't even think to look at all of their records. Eleven Big Ten wins out of that team is nothing short of amazing.
  9. I thought it was a legit call at first glance. I didn't get a great look at the replay. I was more more irritated with the ticky tack calls that fouled out Rivers and Shields.
  10. Where's Atewe's tweet about tonight's awesome win?
  11. Ryan is a no-brainer to me (because I know they won't vote for a coach with only five wins). Ryan lost his starting point guard before the season and still has Wisconsin in fifth place. He's an incredible coach. But, wow, the job Miles has done this season is every bit as impressive.
  12. I assume Bo Ryan will win Big Ten coach of the year, but I'm not so sure our own Tim Miles doesn't deserve some serious consideration. I don't think a single team has overachieved as much as Nebraska has in conference this season.
  13. Does Ubel lead the country in travels?
  14. From Matthew Hansen. Big-time Hoops fan and a former classmate of mine... http://www.omaha.com/article/20130306/HUSKERS/703059816/1685#hansen-diehard-husker-hoops-fans-are-used-to-suffering
  15. I've gotta disagree with you on one major thing: Iowa is much more talented than Nebraska. The problem with the Hawkeyes is that they're really young and they just can't win close games. They've lost five Big Ten games when they've led or been tied in the last minute. Next year I would expect them to be a solid NCAA Tournament team with essentially the same players. But what a great, gut-check win by this group. It's not easy to win with only five players. Miles obviously is an outstanding coach, and I can't wait to see what he does once he gets "his guys" on the court.
  16. Not to nitpick the original post, but calling Gesell as steady a player as there is seems like quite a bit of hyperbole. I live in Hawkeye country, and he's having an OK freshman season. I'd love to have him in Lincoln, but he has a long ways to go before he's a steady point guard. There's a reason Iowa has been pretty brutal in close Big Ten games. Their point guard play hasn't been good enough. That being said, he's going to be a really nice four-year player for the Hawkeyes.
  17. I wonder, cuz they didn't have announcers did they? Think they'd be willing to put Kent's call on it? I live in Hawkeye country and my Facebook was dotted with Iowa fans who hated the Nebraska play-by-play team. It's hilarious.
  18. Didn't get to watch a single play from this game, but wow, what a comeback! Was keeping up on my phone but figured it was over at halftime. GATA!
  19. Yeah, I wonder if there's more to it than just confidence in Atewe. As some have mentioned, maybe the APR is playing a role in this, or maybe a one-and-done senior has reached out to Nebraska and indicated an interest in playing in the Big Ten. Hopefully this is a good thing...
  20. I lifted this from his facebook page... This is a quote from a 2014 basketball recruit I recently interviewed about if he knew anything about Nebraska... "Honestly, no sir. I mean, I knew they had a good football team for a couple years. That's about it." Ouch.
  21. I would rather not even use the scholarship if it came down to him or nothing.
  22. His best offers appear to be South Florida and Dayton. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Mark-Williams-106478
  23. Dang, every time I see this thread updated I hope it's because he committed or something.
  24. A good friend of mine is an Illini fan and has some contacts with the program. They're confident that they're in the mix right now.
  25. Thad Matta has a disability called "foot drop" as well as a bad back, so he wears the shoe, I believe, because it fits better with his ankle-foot orthotic and it's far more comfortable for him when he stands.
