He understands they’re too talented to play this poorly & it’s happening too often. I also wish he (they) didn’t feel weighed down by this “Winning a Tournament Game” Gorilla & just focus on playing their BEST Basketball. Everything else will take care of itself.
There was an article in the Star Tribune shortly after this game that claimed it was the BIGGEST Win of the Ben Johnson Era. While that seemed laughable at the time, it now appears somewhat Prophetic.
If we go 8-7 down the stretch (regardless of who we beat) I’d bet a LOT of money we’re in the Tournament. Watching to see how it happens will be absolutely delicious.
I relived the Exact moment from 1982 with one Mr. Kent Pavelka tonight on the Radio. I KNEW if I didn’t go to the game we’d Win so I feel partially responsible.
I haven’t watched Purdue play enough to know if they’re “Better” but I DO know that simply by playing together, gaining experience, confidence & resolve we’re going to be harder & harder to beat as the season unfolds.
