  1. I don't have much substance behind this, but it's sounded like McDermott and the AD haven't seen eye-to-eye. If true, a move wouldn't surprise me.
  2. If you're a couple of drinks in, you won't notice it. Actually might be a better decoder for the rest of the thread.
  3. Can somebody explain what happened to the $100,000 Creighton had lying around pre-NIL?
  4. In a cruel twist of fate, the B1G IS slow & unathletic. Fast + very good perimeter shooting tends to do well in March. Which was Hoiberg's original plan coming to Nebraska.
  5. And there's no more Gavitt series going forward. So that's either replaced with some other series or it's an open non-conference game we have flexibility to schedule with.
  6. Meanwhile, Scott Drew is getting paid $3.3M while Hoiberg is getting paid $3.5M.
  7. Bluebloods dropping like flies. Duke, Kentucky, Kansas all down for the count. Wild tournament.
  8. I know some Purdue fans who are putting a lot of stock into repeating what Virginia did (win it all the next season after losing to a #16 seed). The others, however, aren't too hopeful of any semblance of a good season next year.
  9. I haven't done the math on it, but returning minutes and returning % points are some good barometers for returning talent. Curious how this would look across the conference.
  10. And whatever improvements we make in the offseason, that needs to be at a much larger rate than that of our peers in the conference.
  11. Nebraska wins at every... except on the field/court.
  12. These two + Minnesota and bartovik says we're in the last 4 in. Completely get the notion, but flipping those are just as easy as us not winning OT games vs. Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Maryland. We needed a lot to work in our favor. And at the end of the day we probably netted out even in terms of "games we should have won" and "games we should have lost".
  13. If they could pony up some NIL and get him to stay, he could take them dancing next year. That place is a financial wasteland. They're lucky to have him. I'd imagine a school like Kennesaw State could garner more NIL money than SJSU could. Miles is better moving on if the P5 offers are out there.
  14. No disrespect to Maryland. But this may be the most I've rooted ever for Maryland to win in this game, ever. I like Nate Oats as a coach. But this program (this particular season) is trash.
  15. Really didn't put any stock in Penn State entering this tournament. Don't really care who wins this one (PSU/UT) but Penn State might start to get America behind them in their region if they can pull this one off. Impressive run.
  16. Rumor has it, we've already got Ukrainian women coming to campus.
  17. I addition to expectations, we must factor in what the addition of UCLA and USC will do. Can we compete with these additional teams? Are we going to be behind 2 more teams? If we're expecting to be in the top half, that's another 1-2 teams we need to our recruit, out develop, out perform in the offseason. If we can't show that progress, then we're already that much further behind. Rutgers and Northwestern did it. Can we?
  18. Rocky chalk.
  19. The short answer is: we'll never know. The goal posts move every season either by new committee members or changing preferences in criteria. Aside from that, we can try to make assumptions based on the "Last Four In" teams, but even then there's some subjectivity in there.
