It's the final Sunday of the regular season. The college basketball landscape is taking shape:

A bit tough when you don't play good basketball in January and wait until February to kick it into gear. We needed too many things out of our control* to work in our favor by March (like seeding, bubble/autobids, etc.). Good reminder for next season as a pulse check for our progress. (*of course winning 5 games in 5 days is within our control, but the probabilities are very unlikely)

And after ALL of this, the downs and the big ups, do we find a way to turn this season into a losing season? How Nebrasketball would that be? I have to cry and laugh at the same time for even thinking of this scenario.

We're averaging 1 postseason every 3 seasons (since 2000). Not saying we should strive for better than that (we should), but this goes beyond a single coach. Zero postseasons in five years would certainly turn heads.

So basically our 2nd best season in 23 years? Having a winning record, and 9+ conference wins, and winning a conference tournament game.

Has anybody done a wellness check on the twelve San Jose State basketball fans?

A lot of people saying "bubble". But what does that actually mean? Be in the conversation for the tournament in March? Be on some pundants list for last four out? On Selection Sunday at least be on the "Next Four Out" list? Host a first round home game in the NIT? These are all very different things when referring to "at least bubble".

I'm all for the CBI if our players vote on it and want to keep playing. Having zero shot to play more basketball together because some administration or fans think it's too weak is kind of irrelevant.

Exactly this. I still had confidence in this team throughout the game. But the moment this happened, I had that thought in my head that we might have dug ourselves in too deep of a hole.

Hopefully next season the Delaware States and Marists have some relevance for us

If someone was in a coma before February and woke up today to see this post, they'd think you were talking about a coaching search. What a wild season.

I believe Oregon played in the CBI before, for whatever that's worth.
