November 24 was not a good day for Nebraska sports.

I'd disagree. Or at least defer. We could have went 3-9 on the season and they would have had no bearing on his coaching status for me. What does matter to me though is how he's going to respond in the offseason about our incredulous offense. If we just scored 15 points each game, we're 8-4. Let's not undersell his drastic change in defense and special teams that we were raking under the coals for the last 10 seasons. Top 25 in many categories. The one major area there I'd say needs improvement is forcing turnovers. TLDR; Offense: Bottom 25 in most categories Defense: Top 25 in most categories At least he's fixed one side of the ball. Prior to that we were unreliable on both sides of the ball.

Does this mean it's officially basketball season?

not at all! My point was that our bubble hopes were likely more impacted from our last game, not the next one. But an undefeated matchup would have made that particular matchup more hyped. I, personally, just think our successes and failures are independent from some other school in Nebraska. Doesn't mean it can't be fun though!

Can you call them both up real quick and have them update their eBays?

I'm more focused on us getting wins in conference play than I am some against some particular non-conference opponent to be honest. Winning last night did more for keeping us in the bubble hunt than a result on Sunday; more to lose with last night's game.

The game also shifted once Duquesne got into serious foul trouble and eventually fouling out. Would be remiss to say we won this game purely on our own. Duquesne seems to have a solid team that can have a strong season if they maintain some more discipline through 40 full minutes. I'll likely keep my eye on them a couple times throughout the season.

That must mean that 6 Big Ten teams are going to make the dance this year. Too bad we're stuck in an NIT road game

Duquesne had a legitimate shot at winning this game if they didn't have every single player in foul trouble.

I've got my complaints. But I will say, we've been a fairly disciplined team all things considered.

May need to start replenishing my stock just in case...
