Selection Committee Games of Interest
HuskerFever replied to hhctony's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Lunardi posted these bracket standings around noon yesterday. So there's a good chance things will look different come Monday. But just remember that teams like Missouri, Washington, and Texas got some major wins this weekend so they might find a way into the charts again. -
I have a source that says you're wrong. Just don't ask who it is because they're out of town on a mission to the moon right now.

I guess that's what happens when you're using your phone to post updates and realize that you were wrong about who was at home and try to make an edit. -

Opponent status: - Marist losing at home to Iona, 36-60 15:45 to go - Boston College losing at home to Georgia Tech, 33-40 16:23 to go - Ohio State beating at home to Illinois, 34-30 halftime just ended - Wisconsin beating on the road to Maryland, 6-2 16:27 1st to go -
Yeah, definitely not arguing that from any former Missouri Valley fan. The old Big East is arguably better. But the new Big East has some high quality teams that I've enjoyed watching over the decades. I'm sure that's just a fun hoops conference to be part of. But to come out to say a conference is averaging 3.2 bids a year is laughable. I am curious to see how BPI conference rankings will differ from tournament play. It was noticeably wrong in college football bowl games this last season. Should be a fun one.

At this point in the season, how much do you think these people are tweaking their models to adjust to other hard-to-measure variables versus leaving their model as-is? -

Selection Committee Games of Interest

Overall not a bad day. Started off poorly, then got a lot of good losses in the middle of the day, then finished off poorly. Biggest heavy hitters was probably: St. John's got a big win at home against Duke NC State and is probably close to a lock Missouri, Alabama, and Texas are inconsistent but building their resumes South Carolina, Syracuse, and Georgia are likely out Western Kentucky didn't do themselves any favors Delaware State sucks Washington just keeps hanging around -
Take your pick. Collier took naps during halftime, Doc took naps during tipoffs, and Miles takes naps during late 2nd half timeouts.

And while we're at it, Monday isn't looking too interesting either: Syracuse/Louisville - current 6 seed (Louisville) versus current bubble team; Syracuse is likely out so this is a toss-up Delaware State/North Carolina A&T - c'mon man! 2.0 -

There is really not much going on this Sunday. Here's the Games of Interest: Seton Hall/Villanova - likely doesn't matter, but Villanova winning doesn't hurt Wisconsin/Maryland - probably looking for Maryland to improve its RPI Arizona State/Washington State - ASU is likely in, but they are 4-6 in Pac-12 play In sort there's really not much impacting our bubble watch on Sunday. Get out of the house, go to Conlee's,and say hi to @cipsucks, and watch the Super Bowl. -

BracketMatrix has us knocked down to only being in 1 bracket now. I'm going to chalk that up as: 1. A bye week 2. We'll see some bigger shifts after this weekend's games (other teams falling and hopefully we move up a few) -

UT San Antonio is up 37-25 at half against Western Kentucky. This would be a HUGE one for us if they can pull off the win. -
