  1. A handful of Miles' success at Nebraska has been through finding undervalued players on the transfer market. This just opens up the door for him even more.
  2. With Frost going even as far down to the level of detail about the way they treat the cafeteria staff, I'm thinking lack of respect has to be somewhere on that list as well.
  3. Our baseball schedule was just released. And it features the defending national champions: https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/baseball/nebraska-baseball-schedule-revealed-nu-will-play-defending-national-champs/article_9ffca84d-1e0c-5c52-90ff-6c9e795a09a4.html
  4. They have good lawyers.
  5. I'm all about verified facts. This one has some substance to it, but take it with a grain of salt. Someone associated with the program (who's been around before both Frost and Riley) mentioned that there has been some old coach vs. new coach drama going on. That's where my note of locker room drama came about. Let's just hope it's not that bad.
  6. How much more money or political power did Kansas have that these other schools didn't have to pay someone off? ?
  7. Interesting take. I appreciate the insight. There's been two instances where opponents used Frosts' words against him, so I wouldn't be surprised if his own team did the same. I think what we're seeing here is a split locker room of Riley's squad (some of whoch were players who had less regimented training and conditioning) and Frosts' players (who actively chose to play for Frost and knew what they were signing up to). And so now Frost comes in and places much more structured and intense training on these players who are no longer able to skate by solely on their innate talents. We're not going to get over this locker drama until the critical mass of buy-in happens and the players themselves police their team just like they did in the '90s.
  8. I'm just going to put this right here, because I want to be able to look back at this a few years from now and be proud about this program about where they were now versus where they will be when they get things figured out.
  9. To all the season ticket holders out there:
  10. I'm mainly referring to the amount of coverage a particular sport gets in a given calendar year. The basketball season is longer than the football season yet it appears there's much more coverage on the football program than there is for the basketball program.
  11. I would argue that it has a lot more to do with views/clicks on articles. Football articles on LJS appear to get much more views than basketball articles (basing that hypothesis on placement of football vs. basketball articles on their main pages as well as the amount of public comments in the articles).
  12. It seems only fitting that Oregon State is sharing some of the spotlight with us: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/bottom-25-college-football-rankings-nebraska-ucla-among-four-winless-teams-remaining/amp/ 2. Nebraska 0-3 "Like death being a fan of a Bottom 25 team has stages. When Nebraska first appeared here, the fans were furious about it, calling me all sorts of names. When the Huskers lost to Troy, the anger subsided a bit, and instead, Nebraska fans focused on what was wrong with their team. Now, after a 56-10 loss to Michigan, I've had Nebraska fans tweeting me to tell me they want UTEP. I've seen it many times before. Purdue's up next. (10)"
  13. Me too It's a shame. He never really did look good in blue and white.
  14. It looks like we're 3 point underdogs at home against Purdue. I never thought I'd say those words all in one sentence.
  15. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the MLS Cup (playoffs) are about to start up. And there's a team (Atlanta United) who's on pace to break some MLS regular season records in their final four matches.
  16. Just over 6 more weeks until we can start focusing on a sport with a round ball and a peach basket.
  17. You're either in or you're out: “Let’s just be truthful: There are some people that want it and some people that don’t. That’s why we’re playing the brand of football we’re playing right now. We’re going to get there and it’s all positive, but I hope that if people have any doubt in us and our team that they make their exit now and we get better from here on out." https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/notes-husker-lb-barry-there-are-some-people-that-want/article_770ed187-40fe-57d1-9c77-33038e8ec781.html
  18. Turns out this is true. https://www.maizenbrew.com/football/2018/9/22/17890946/josh-metellus-nebraska-gave-up-after-first-series-vs-michigan He brings it up within 45 seconds into the video:
  19. Is it just me, or has this not been a surprise? Frost consistently said nearly every week during the offseason that his players weren't where he wants them to be. At first I just thought that was him being a perfectionist, but it turns out we're just not even "there" yet.
  20. The new coach has inherited a team that shattered (bad) records that date all the way back to the 1950s. Turning around a program like this doesn't just happen over night.
  21. In case you needed a good laugh. "We showed up, we kicked off, we played,'' Akron AD Larry Williams said Thursday night. "[Nebraska] didn't want to compete at our level,'' he said. https://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2018/09/nebraska_shuns_akron_zips_to_p.html
  22. Cancel your weddings and mark your calendars:
  23. That would mark the entire "Haymarket Hardwood" forum as read, not just the "Husker Hoops Recruiting" subforum, which would be unfortunate. Because then I'd miss out on all the great new conversations in Haymarket Hardwood when I get too inundated with recruitment talk.
