I don't know. That might be the case. I hope that's the case. But other than the last year or two, it seems like Creighton had a bigger sense of urgency and intensity when it comes to this matchup. I'm not talking skill level or outcome or anything, I'm talking about players putting that extra 10% on the line even if one team is 0-10 and the other is 10-0. McDermott seems to be able to communicate that significance year-in and year-out.

57% of the Big Ten is ranked, encompassing 32% of the Top 25, and are part of the top 2.3% of Division I college basketball. This is a different picture than we had in December of last year.

Seems to me that Frost must be on the hot seat then.

It certainly would give Creighton extra motivation to beat us.

It's crazy to think that it's not out of the realm of possibility of maintaining a rank all the way through December.

The lowest score for the Texas Tech game was 140. So with a +25 penalty, it's 165 for a missed game. And you're right, the highest/worst score gets dropped at the end of the season.

Just a few observations: 1. It's apparent that Mississippi Valley State wasn't able to completely knock the rust off. 2. I think we broke Missouri State. 3. Clemson must hate the state of Nebraska. 4. Illinois isn't doing us any favors.

It was a no brainier for me before this one started that Northwestern would win this one. Georgia Tech lost two major contributors that held that team together. They might be rebuilding for the next few years.
