This feels like a double standard to me. No one's claiming Miles is as good a coach as Cook. But if Cook advocates for the guy and found him beneficial in, ya know, winning a championship and the same guy is involved and the basketball gets off to one of the best starts in school history, why isn't that allowed to continue. Moos referenced to now allowing "just anybody" around the program. I don't disagree, but I'd argue that Riggins isn't that. Heck, Jack Stark got that treatment as well, and that makes even less sense.

I mean, they were off to one of the best starts in school history. Obliterating teams. Doing exactly what you'd expect a team like we thought we had to do. According to everyone on the team, the question isn't "would he have helped", he was helping! I'm guessing there's more to the story of the season than just Jack Riggins, because the team we see now doesn't resemble the team we saw in November and December. Having a guy like Riggins available to help stem whatever mental tides were shifting might have drastically altered the course of the season. I don't really care about whether Miles is or isn't the guy in this discussion. I feel like we were robbed of what could have been something pretty special. It sounds like there may have been some miscommunication as to what internal resources were available, or maybe just some stubbornness, but either way, something went array around the holidays and the plan that was working wasn't allowed to be continues. And that frustrates me to no end.

Yes it is. The clock just hasn't reached 0:00 yet... -
There's very little else to say. They played ok at times. They didn't in significant spots. The refs missed a few calls that might have swung things. We all know what's coming, I think. And I hate that it's gone this way...

If he can develop some sort of offensive weapon beyond driving to the rim, he'll be a starter in short order. He's gonna be a great defender before his time is done. -

Want, maybe. But that's different than should. I've met a lot of people that like him and would have liked it to work out. I haven't had anyone say he should be retained since the losing streak. Everyone knows the deal, though, but no, I haven't really encountered anyone that say he should be retained in a while now. Not saying they don't exist, but I think at this point, I think most people know the deal.

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 11; ed 26 - Northwestern

This may have been Roby's Magnum Opus. - They seemed a little bit to have figured out who they are gonna be sans Copeland. That's encouraging. Don't know if it will be enough or in time to get in the tournament, but there's still something to play for. Huge game coming up on Tuesday. - As good as the defense was, the offense didn't have their best day. - JPJ seemed to be pressing a bit. Some really bad shot selection. That said, he did have several assists and thought he defended pretty well. - Glynn wasn't great, but he at least was taking good shots. - Amir's pretty ... "Craft-y". At least he seems like he could be to me. - Roby and Tanner were in a real battle in the paint tonight and didn't give an inch. They're gonna need to bring that vs. Penn St., too. That PSU frontcourt isn't a great matchup for us. - Vic Law had 10 at half. He scored on an and-1 early in the second and never scored again. They did a great job on him in the second half. Just masterful. - Speaking of Vic Law, I thought wrestling moves are supposed to be fouls, not jump balls. - Northwestern really turned the ball over a lot. Probably cost them the game. A few real head scratchers, too. - Still work to do. Tuesday is a huge game. Happy Valley has been a real house of horrors for NU. Hopefully they bring the energy on the road with them. Some offense would be nice, too. - Haven't subbed much in the second half the past couple games. Only 12 minutes total from the bench, I think. Something like that anyway. That might be the formula, the rest of the way. Not sure if we really have any other choice. - Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of this years alternates... Anyway, I hope you all made it home safely. -
