Report reply hhcmatt 10,768 Posted February 20 Back in 2012 during the last year of the Doc Sadler era towards the end it was pretty apparent that the team we had wasn't very good. We played a reeling Illinois team who brought a bunch of their student section into our vacant upper level with aspirations of turning their season around vs lowly Nebraska. We ended up destroying that team to the point that we still talk about Meyers Leonard and the end of the Bruce Weber era. That's what tonight felt like...being on the other end of that beat down we put on Illinois that essentially ended those guys. 5 1 Mr. Red, NUtball, Shawn Eichorst's Toupee and 3 others reacted to this Quote Share this comment

Surprised Amir hasn't played more, tbh, in these past 5 games. He's a legit defender, if nothing else. And he can get to the rim, since other teams don't know he can't shoot worth a lick..... 1 Nebrasketball1979 reacted to this Quote Share this comment

NU made PSU look like the Globetrotters up against the Washington Generals. Quote Share this comment

I took my son a few years back to see the Globetrotters play the Generals and the Generals had some dudes who could shoot! The Globetrotters needed a three with under a minute left to win. Ok, I feel like I am digressing from the main topic here! 1 1 AuroranHusker and Noah121 reacted to this Quote Share this comment
Report reply HolyBobpilgrimage 370 Posted February 20 Played like the basement dwellers WE TRULY ARE. Really sad defensive effort. shot well enough to win on the road. What a shame. Major embarrassments = the university takes action to protect its interests. RIP miles era. Whether it was his fault or not, it doesnt matter; the team slowly lost their fight. Is it the current generation's snowflake mentality? I know losing so much will slowly sap the inspiration outta you, but it's simply unacceptable to have athletes here who dont have the DOG in them, who wilt in the face of competition, who fall and cry in fetal position when they encounter difficulty. You have to have a locker room mentality of positivity, from my limited perspective. I just dont feel their ethos is a winning one, nor one that represents the Nebraska ethos. 1 HoiBall reacted to this Quote Share this comment

I just went to the Globetrotters vs Generals in Lincoln; and the Generals seemed to have a team filled with a few of those casual JPJ's. I brought this up a couple weeks back, and this is the perfect game example, as we were also bad that year, with Sadler getting fired like Weber. Now Miles and Chambers will probably both be fired. Report reply hhcmatt 10,768 Posted February 20 Postgame Notes *-James Palmer Jr. reached double-figures for the 26th time this season with 24 points. Palmer also went over 500 points this season, becoming the eighth player in school history to record consecutive 500-point seasons. *-Palmer posted his 13th 20-point game of the year, matching the most under Tim Miles (13, Terran Petteway, 2014-15). Palmer now has 21 career 20-point games. *-Palmer also passed Herschell Turner for 29th on Nebraska’s career scoring chart, as Palmer now has 1082 career points at NU. *-Amir Harris had a season-high 2 blocked shots tonight. Harris had one blocked shot in four previous games this season. He also finished with four points, his highest total since Nov. 11. *-Penn State became just the third opponent in the last 51 games dating back to last season to shoot over 50 percent from the field. *-Nebraska sees its two-game win streak snapped and falls to 1-6 in State College in the Big Ten era. Prior to tonight, three of the last four matchups were decide by four points or less. *-Isaiah Roby finished with 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting. In two games against Penn State this year, Roby is 16-of-19 from the field Quote Share this comment

Hmmm. I already posted my very blunt feelings on Palmer a couple weeks back. So I’ll bite my lip. But I will not be sorry to see him go nor this Miles era of 1-2 guys per team just jacking up ill advised shot after lll adviser shot while they attempt to chase their NBA dreams and the rest of the guys peace out - either via transfer or just all together quit. So over it. 1 jayschool reacted to this Quote Share this comment
