  1. I defiantly rushed the court for that one...
  2. IDK, I haven't seen a ton of diving for loose balls this year outside of Breidenbach. That might totally be true.
  3. Defensive energy is good Rebounding is still rough, but seeing a bit more effort there too. Ed had a beauty. Maybe the best of the year. Still like the offense better with Kobe in there Body language seems better over what it was a few weeks ago. That’s good. That weave play where Walker came wide open was nice! Feels like Fred calling plays and them having less freedom is the right call for this year. To only be down 2 at halftime and OSU hitting four more threes than NU is pretty fortunate The guy at halftime came out super aggressive. that’s probably a lesson to future contestants. It was nice to see Bryce get back to making some plays. Despite his growth, Ed does get lost sometimes, leaving things wide open behind him for a lay-in or rebound Then the layin to tie the game may have been the best finish of the season for him. I think everyone in the building thought Bryce was going to take the three. Did a better job of getting to the line tonight. That’s how they stayed in the game. Looks like they got some things right in the break. The play to go up 5 on the Lat slam was a gem! (But he’s gotta get back! OMG) How long did Verge sit the second half? Seemed like the last 15 minutes at least. That was interesting Brutal misses from Lat. he’s had a pretty good game for the most part today, but that stung. Really needed that thing to end on regulation Overtime: ugh. Damn Creighton, NC State and tonight give me hope this team can compete.I saw long stretches of the team I expected to see more of this year. But the guy punches need to come to an end at some point… Getting Trey back will help a lot.
  4. I thought Lat held his own defensively a lot of the night. Our lack of front court depth reveals itself in his defensive assignments
  5. Bryce won’t get his game to the next level until he figures out how to defend. He’s still so young he’ll eventually figure it out but it’s costing them games right now.

  7. John Gaskins called in to say his farewell and accidentally made mention of it, so the cat is unofficially officially out of the bag even though everyone basically put all the pieces together a while ago. So, unless he’s taking a spot on USC and those roles are getting shuffled, I think we all know what’s happening here at this point…
  8. On one of the segments on the Finsl GSS, they alluded to another solo show in the 10-2 slot, so Happer in that slot makes sense. Unless he goes to USC and one of those guys gets the solo show. That would surprise me, though the lack of an announcement is interesting. Big sure why that’s a big secret when everything else has been announced already.
  9. 93.7 is announcing the new lineup tomorrow
  10. Wonder if it'll be a solo show of Connor or he'll have a co-host. Schaefer's not sticking around at 93.7 either, so wonder if they're jumping over together?
  11. Listening to a couple segments yesterday it sounds like a move to an Omaha station is in order. Will be very interested to see how it all shakes out
  12. Northwestern feb 5
  13. I’m guessing the former if it was anything like that at all.
  14. @hhcmatt unless I’ve missed something the past couple of days, he may not even know yet. Hasn’t at least announced anything publicly. Also curious what happens to the 1620 lineup now.
  15. Didn't get to watch tonight. From the boxscore, it looks like they did what they were supposed to do vs. Kennesaw State?

  17. yep
  18. I was wondering this as well. I haven't been able to find any sort of announcement outside of what I saw Shatel write the other day. Thought maybe I missed something?
  19. That was one of the critiques of him with the Bulls, wasn't it? Not sure about at ISU, but I think he's always been an even-keel guy. Which can work if you get the right mix of guys, but it sure hasn't worked here. Body language is not always a good indicator of how competitive or motivated someone is.
  20. Yep. The Kansas game was obviously a killer, but losing to Central Florida in the invitational game was, too. That would have given us a game vs. West Virginia and either Mizzou or a revenge game vs. St. John's. Instead we got Marist and LBST. Two wins, but not two helpful ones. That was the most detrimental weekend for their NCAA tourney hopes. The OT loss at Penn St. didn't help either...
  21. Totally. Recruiting misses and some development issues played a big role in that. They needed another couple of players to be able to get over the hump. They were essentially a 4 player team once Cope went down and then just 3 were left when Thomas Allen got banged up. That's not going to cut it. A couple more capable players and that could have been a truly special team. Looking back at that schedule, there's several games that a couple more players would have helped flip this whole thing on it's head. I think that's one of the things he would love to have a do-over with. Who knows, maybe Miles leaves on his own after that given the fractured nature of the Miles/Moos relationship.
  22. Outside of the Copeland injury, I really wonder what happened or didn't that let that thing spiral the way it did. That team should have been a really good team. They were a shell of what they were in December by the end of the season...
  23. For NU, it was a breakout year. It was literally the second best conference record in modern program history. The only one better was 65-66. I don't care that the conference was down. If the conference would have been better, they still would have won a lot of games. They were a really good team that year.
  24. Perhaps, but he also did things here that hadn't been done in decades. I'd have given him the chance to really build something solid. Maybe he would have failed in that, but I would have given him every resource to make that happen. The last few years, that didn't happen. If he could have built that stability and gotten Kenya and Lewis to stick around, you're likely looking at a roster with Xavier Johnson, Chucky, Hunter and probably other good pieces around it. His last two seasons he was in total survival mode. I've often wondered if he wasn't feeling like he was fighting for his coaching life at NU if things would have been different. Now, Miles of course bears some of that responsibility. And I think if you ask him what he'd do differently, there would be a few things that he could rattle off that could have changed things. Hindsight only accentuates that seeing how the Hoiberg years have played out.
