  1. Not an unexpected result. I was in and out on this one. Sounds like NU started strong but IU took over the rest of the way. Hopefully things go better on Tuesday vs. Michigan.
  2. That makes the calculus super tricky. I have no idea how/if it gets fixed this season. But I'm not the one who gets paid 3 mil to figure it out. Point guard next season is gonna be a fairly high stakes deal.
  3. And I'm sure it didn't just surface after this game. They need to hold the ship together til Trey gets back. Then see what adjustments happen from there.
  4. Who said this? "It's hard to get a rhythm when the ball sticks. I think we've got to come down, execute our plays a little better so everyone's in the flow of the game. That opens up a lot for everybody. If we do that, I think our shooters get better looks, more consistent looks." and this "Just touching the ball sometimes. Just feeling like part of the play."
  5. That possibility disappeared when miles was let go
  6. It wouldn't even be warm for me yet
  7. I think Kieta will help in games like this next year. Everything I've heard about him is that he's a B1G post player. And a floor general. Need one of those. Maybe it's McPherson. Maybe it's Lloyd. Maybe it's a transfer. But that's a huge need, as we all know.

  9. I'd just like to see Lat's minutes reduced because he's not playing that well. Maybe ironically, the NCST game was maybe his best game of the season. I know he's been battling some injuries that have probably been hampering him. But he doesn't seem to be helping much out there right now. Maybe he's doing little things that are hard for me to see that keep him on the court, not discounting that possibility.
  10. I think it'll be a little of both. I think they come out fairly inspired but won't have enough in the tank to finish the deal. IU did have a 2OT excruciating loss on the road the day before, so maybe they'll be fighting some of that, too. That extra game time and day to recover is a lot, though... Tomorrow is gonna be tough. I feel a lot better about Tuesday.
  11. I would think so. Probably back to full strength by that point. I'm guessing he's highly motivated to play in East Lansing. I think that was one of the places he was really looking forward to playing.
  12. On their podcast, Trey said he was ahead of schedule and will be closer to the 6 weeks instead of the 8 weeks. He said he's planning to be back for the Michigan St. game on Jan 5.
  13. …or if he’d done his job at the end of regulation… also, I bet someone would have mentioned the calls that let them back in the game and the free throw disparity.
  14. Two things can be true at once: - NU could have done things better earlier in the game so NCST has a harder time coming back. I know I rued it at the time. AND - The officials missed an obvious call at the end of regulation, perhaps other calls as well that could have significantly impacted the outcome, both in regulation and the overtimes. Both are true.
  15. Ugh...here are my thoughts as they happened... NU may have scored first, but they didn't really handle the pressure NCSU brings well early. Nice to see Lat connect. If he's gonna start, he kinda needs to get going. Love having Keisei and CJ on the floor together. I like it even more when Kobe and Bryce are with them. Verge is finishing pretty well today. Bryce reminds me a bit of JPJ. He has a knack of getting to the rim that few in this program have been able to do over the years. Keisei is going to be a legend by the time his days are done here. Considering how skittish the start was, couldn't really ask for much more in the first half. Liked seeing Keisei start the second half. They really have looked pretty sharp so far. Wish they would have been able to stretch the lead a bit more with NCST going cold in the middle of the half, but a 13 point lead at the under 12 is a good spot to be! Wilhelm will learn how to avoid fouls as he gets more experience. Predictably, NCST comes all the way back. Pretty immature moment from Lat, though. He can't do that, especially in front of their bench. Liked how NU responded after the kerfufel. Loved that they went straight to Bryce for the first possession. Felt like NU was pretty scattered the last two minutes. Some not great possessions. Maybe got sped up by the emotions or something. That was as good a look as Verge could have asked for at the buzzer. How the refs didn't call something there is unbelievable! Wilcher had a rough night. I like getting Bryce the ball there. Thought he had it, just rimmed out. Wilcher with a big one when it mattered, though! (before fouling out...) Walker with some big time defensive plays to keep NU with the lead (about 1 min left in 3OT) Brutal, brutal loss.

  17. Man, I've wanted the hoops program to embrace the Oregon mentality for a long time...
  18. Maybe the question is, did I ever leave?
  19. I love that basketball has a lot of uniform options. You can do that and still have a unified look. I do agree with Trev, though, there has been too much variance from sport to sport. I like moving towards making things more, ahem, uniform, across all sports.
  20. If Dawson is on campus next month, will he start practicing with the team and such or does he have to wait until after the season?
  21. NU 74 ncst 73 mcgowens buzzer beater
