That would be seem to be an odd hire. One that wouldn't really excite me either. I know there is another great program there that is a big rival of Hurley's team. Could it be that coach? I wouldn't think so, as I doubt that would have those than know excited. Anxious to find out who it is. Well, the always reliable Wikopedia lists the following bball players from Jersey City: Terry Dehere (born 1971), politician, former NBA basketball player[60] Dom Flora (born 1935), All-America basketball player, late 1950s, at Washington and Lee University; holds their scoring record[61] Bobby Hurley (born 1971), professional basketball player[62] Dan Hurley (born 1973), college basketball player and college basketball coach[63] Roshown McLeod (born 1975), played in three NBA seasons from 1999 to 2001, for the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers[65][66] Josh A. Moore (born 1980), former NBA basketball player[68] Ahmad Nivins (born 1987), power forward at Saint Joseph's University[60] Shaquille O'Neal (born 1972), professional basketball player, originally from Newark[70] Rodrick Rhodes (born 1973), professional basketball player[60] David Rivers (born 1965), former NBA player for the Los Angeles Lakers, played at Notre Dame[73] Terrence Roberts (born 1985), former member of the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team.[74] Tyshawn Taylor (born 1990), basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets [79] Take your pick or not! -

I hope this isn't as disappointing as the day your package arrives after buying those x-ray glasses in the 1950's from the ad in the back of a comic book! -

Jimmy, Here is an article with a few excerpts that were interesting: http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/3742830-kevin-schnepf-nd-native-takes-behind-scenes-look-tim-miles-new-book For instance: At a home game against Ohio State, he went up to Buckeyes standout guard Aaron Craft during pregame. "'My niece is married, but she has a huge crush on you. The rest of us call you Aaron Crap, though.' 'Yeah, I get that a lot,' Craft said. 'Yeah,' Miles said, again grinning. 'But we really mean it.' He slaps Craft on the back and the guard laughs."

Maye they could hold a practice at the Coliseum for the public? That would still cost the athletic department money as they would have to rent the courts over there. The department paid rent to the university all the years that volleyball was over there. How about holding a practice at the new and improved Bob?

Jimmy, Thanks for letting me know what retired folks do with their spare time. I did not know what to anticipate this fall... But now I do, my friend. Now I do!

Transfer F Tyler Harris (Providence) -> Auburn
trickey replied to TheKamdyMan's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
The problem for Harris will be on the defensive end. If required to play in the post, he'll be pushed all over by Big 10 posts. He can be Pitchford offensively if that means you want him running around on the perimeter, but he's not going to be doing a lot of posting up or scoring from the block. At some point I need to dig in and find small teams and what they did to be successful (or not). Until that time my gut tells me we need to run/pressure a lot more with a 9-10 man rotation...something we haven't really done. MUCH more this! -
Who are we going to target for our new assistant
trickey replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Hmmmm. A player coming, or going? Kill-Joy! If it's another 'Going;' just another opportunity to up-grade the roster. (Hope the new 'additions' alleviate that 'suicidal' feeling amongst the long-suffering 'Old-Timers' ) That is the reason I have never said I want to see a run in the tournament before I die, because my luck would be we make the run, look like we could make runs for years to come, but no I kick off because I had to say I only want to see us win a tournament game And I would die a happy man. Oh! I bartered a much better deal with my gods/devil!s (I am not sure) In my alleged deal, we need to win 2 national championships in either basketball and/or baseball before I die. I thought this was good...It wasn't until several days after I made the verbal agreement that I reviewed it and realized that 2 women's bball titles would satisfy the wording of my contract (no need to worry about the girls of spring, as I think even the gods/devils will be convinced softball cannot be defined as baseball)...and while that would be great (and Row 6 might fulfill his contract)...I really want the March Madness male thing and/or the CWS. In fact, I am hoping it will be at least 1 CWS title, since I know I will be at every game. (Having been at every series since the 50's this would be my "cry me a river" moment.) And if the Huskers ever won the March Madness...I most likely would be willing to die and go to heaven...still in disbelief one trophy short...hell, my wife can even take my Madness Poll winnings and spend it as she wants! (Just don't tell my gods/devils...and certainly don't tell my wife! I do not want to renegotiate my deal.) -

Be doubly happy! From 2 hours earlier.

Silver be happy!

Here you go Brandon...to make it official. Robin has now worked both sides of the street...That must make it the bible/koran/et al rolled into one.
-
My suggestion...see if you can make the Creighton game a home game...then it would look good.

Marv, I was about to go to bed...however, before I go, can I have one of whatever you are drinking? -
Apparently he is back in play...gone from Kansas State. Does anybody know why? He appears to have been dismissed.

OK, try computing this math problem in your head ...

? = the Huskers...need 2 -
Well, unless we find the next Scottie Pippen who was a skinny 6' 1" walk-on at Central Arkansas U. So, all Miles needs to do is find an athletic walk-on who will have a huge growth spurt and turn into an NBA All-Star!

A person...far wiser than me...once stated: "A win is a win is a win!" GBR next up...SWEEP!
-
Can somebody explain how they do the match-ups in this series? In other similar agreements...they appear to match teams from the upper end v. upper....and lower v. lower. Here is last year's 1st against tail end....and at Villanova. Strange...good challenge for us...nothing to gain for them.

Fred Hoiberg to have open-heart surgery.
trickey replied to Red Don's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
FH's situation is different from a person that suddenly learns he has a massive health problem. He has obviously dealt with the knowledge of his valve having a "leak" for years. He has had this operation before... I understand the desire to put it off so as to complete his season. The "recovery time" is not as stated in the article. Your chest is sawn in two and the rib cage spread so the heart can be accessed. You may get physician permission to start going back to work in 4 to 6 weeks...but your full "recovery time" is more like 6 months. Your ribcage is not even sufficiently healed so they think you should drive for quite a while...as they literally twist-tie your ribcage back together and the bones need to be close to fully healed, so an emergency quick action does not cause breakage. FH has obviously known his first operation was less than a perfect success...and he has seen this coming up on him in the rearview mirror for a long time...as opposed to a situation where there is a sudden event and the time must be immediate. The older you are, the harder the recovery becomes. I wish FH nothing but the best results/recovery/etc. He can't be looking forward to going through this...again! -
Yeah, I was there tonight and just got back home in Omaha. The team seemed pretty disinterested by the later innings. Sitting back in the dugout and not much into the game...no chatter or encouragement. The Huskers were meek kittens tonight. The Gophers had some swagger. I hope DE gives them hell tonight and/or tomorrow...They sure need a fire lit under them... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I0c22XegNU
