Not sure how bringing in a guy who didn't believe in anyone enough to stick around would make any difference in this game -

Cam tends to act like the world is against him to the point he puts in effort to do so. Should require zero effort in that arena today. -

Creighton 89 - Nebraska 80 No bonus question for guys putting in transfers during the game? -
Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-4) at Creighton Bluejays (6-2) Date: Saturday Dec 7th, 2019 Time: 1:30 p.m. Arena: CHI Health Center Omaha (17,352, 17th largest in D-I) Broadcast: FS1 Creighton Info Head Coach: Greg McDermott Location: Omaha, NE Conference: Big East Nickname: Bluejays Mascot: Billy Bluejay Typical Rotation Depth: 6+ Line: Creighton by 11.5 KenPom rank: 55 Previous history: Huskers and Jays are tied up at 26 wins each in the rivalry Offensive Style: LET IT FLY Defensive Style: Don't foul Key Injuries: Jacob Epperson, Davion Mintz, Kelvin Jones? Hoiberg Presser Cheatham Presser Players to watch: Christian Bishop The sophomore PF is Creighton's starting center due to injuries. The high flying Bishop is the only rim protector the Jays have and the biggest threat to draw fouls. With Jones questionable, Bishop will probably need to play softly on D or risk foul trouble. Players to watch: Marcus Zegarowski With all due respect to Alexander or Ballock, Zegarowski is the star of this Jays team and when he isn't setting up teammates for easy looks he's hitting from everywhere at a high percentage. Roster points PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 11 Marcus Zegarowski 6-2 180 So 5 Ty-Shon Alexander 6-4 195 Jr 23 Damien Jefferson 6-5 200 Jr 24 Mitch Ballock 6-5 205 Jr 13 Christian Bishop 6-7 205 So 24.7 The Jays might have the 3 or even 4 most talented players on the court but after that things get dicey. It will help their cause if Kevin Jones, their backup center who left last game with a foot injury, can play Alexander has picked up where he left off last year and is capable of carrying the offense in addition to one of the better rebounders on the team Ballock can still hit from everywhere Jefferson is easily the weak link on offense and has slumped from 3 Freshman Shereef Mitchell has stepped up and played well as a secondary PG. Has yet to hit a 3. Freshman walk-on Jett Canfield is really the only other player receiving significant minutes and has been serviceable Senior walk-on Jordan Scurry and schoarlship Fr Jalen Windham have only played garbage minutes but I mention them because they could be pressed to play on Saturday Scouting Creighton The Skinny: There is a decent argument that this isn't a rivalry because as Tim Miles can attest, winning or losing the game vs Creighton isn't much of a factor when it comes to job security. This game really does matter though to the fans of both schools if for no other reason both lost any of their other long standing conference rivals in the last decade. For most people, this is their 'if you can only win one game, let it be this one' game. A lot of Nebraska teams have melted under the lights at Creighton. Is this year's young and swaggy team any different? The Jays and their ability to pour in points with their talented players and home court advantage are probably too much to overcome for this young Nebraska team who has struggled with lesser teams at home. In some ways thought this is a good matchup for the Huskers. Nebraska has only won games where they shoot at high percentage and has only done so against teams with defenses as poor as the Jays. The Huskers half court offense has been substandard but here is a Creighton team that wants to run in transition. Can Nebraska wear down the shorthanded Jays who have notably swooned in 2nd halves this year? The Jays should slow this game down any chance they get and punt on any offensive rebounds in order to make Nebraska earn points and to frustrate a young Nebraska team into beating itself. Are the Jays ready to do the smart thing after being pants'ed last year in Lincoln? Will they let the game fly out of their control? Prediction: Creighton 89 - Nebraska 80 View full article

If that's what beating a rival means then they aren't our rival. It's a game we all want to win more than most but in no way the measuring stick of the program nor predictor of future success. I'm old enough to remember when we killed a good Jays team and then got our teeth kicked in during conference.

Any corner shot Nebraska gets against this 1-3-1 they won't hesitate to take Georgia Tech driving into the lane at will Kevin Cross in early Nebraska sloppy with the ball nifty move by Cheatham to put Nebraska up 11-9 x2 Nebraska looking gassed at the 10 minute mark 8-0 run from GT as Nebraska keeps turning the ball over Yvan with a nfty post move extra passing on the last two plays result in 2 baskets at a 20-19 lead Kavas called for a foul on a baill he wouldn't have gotten to. Having a rough half Thor just knows where to be and sets up for an easy layup. He throws a terrible pass on the next possession and then manages to draw an offensive foul on Devoe Nebraska has drawn 2 offensive fouls on Davoe in two minutes After two turnovers and a blowby for an easy basket a disgusted HCFH calls timout with 1:30 to go Burke had a basket completely erased and GT ends the half on a 10-2 run GT comes out hitting a 3 and Nebraska answers Tech gets an easy bucket off a nice inbounds play Mack gets nice penetration and Yvan blows the bunny. Game starting to slip away as Nebraska can't buy a bucket and is down 43-32 Good post defense by Green It's the part of the game where my children yell and work calls and everything is muddled which feels how this game is going, down 50-40 Nebraska getting to the FT line but thus far is 8-16 which is frustrating when you're down 9 with 7:29 to go Green frustrated by 3s not going down gets the charge trying to drive in Mack hits a tough 3 to pull the team within 11 GT defending the rim well in transistion Can't make layups or FTs.

Hoiberg didn't recruit Burke nor Thor. Kavas and Cheatham won't be here next year anyway. The simplest explanation for Curtis not playing was that he wasn't good enough in practice to crack the rotation and the simplest explanation for his leaving is that he didn't come here to sit.
-
The funny thing about that is the majority of the time Curtis was on the floor so was Kavas
-
He's generating a to throw when the refs aren't looking, which isn't a rule yet enforced

Kugler is at Ohio St this Saturday It's Bahe and Vince Welch

Are we going to need to burn Jace Piatkowski's red shirt now?
-
-
Mid-season transfer. He'd be eligible next year second semester. In theory he could have played here 6 more games and then transferred out. I guess you can appreciate his honesty.
-
It is Bahe

We couldn't get Miles on the PBP for this one?

Look at the numbers

What about the coach that spent the entire last year eating cat poop sandwiches?

Splits with Ty-Shon Alexander on and off the court. Numbers indicate what anyone who watches Creighton would know: he's their most important player P/100 Adj P/100 eFG% TO% ORB% FTR 3PR 2PR mid 2PR rim 3P% 2P% 2P% mid 2P% rim Poss SoS 'On' Offense 114.1 115.9 56.1 16.4 28.6 26.8 40.5 26.0 33.5 41.0 52.4 37.0 64.3 440 102.1 'On' Defense 99.3 95.8 49.1 19.0 28.0 24.3 37.8 32.0 30.2 30.1 51.5 42.1 61.4 441 97.0 'Off' Offense 93.8 92.1 45.7 12.5 19.4 13.0 45.7 32.6 21.7 28.6 48.0 33.3 70.0 48 100.2 'Off' Defense 119.6 117.6 56.5 17.4 42.3 10.9 50.0 30.4 19.6 43.5 47.8 42.9 55.6 46 100.3 'Baseline' Offense 112.1 113.4 55.0 16.0 27.4 25.3 41.1 26.7 32.3 39.5 52.0 36.5 64.7 488 101.9 'Baseline' Defense 101.2 97.8 49.9 18.9 29.5 22.9 39.2 31.8 29.0 31.9 51.2 42.2 61.0 487 97.3

That leads to the 2nd part of the site: analysis with one guy on and off the court Here is what it looks like when Thor is on or off (excluding possessions that included Arop or Easley as these are probably garbage minutes) I was surprised to see the defensive numbers looked so much better with him on the court. Is some of that because he's coming in against the other team's bench guys? This is something to monitor going forward: Is our defense better with Thor vs Burke and why? Out of position? Beaten? Overhelp?
