  1. Finally answer back in a game.
  2. Woof Teddy has been garbage the last few possessions
  3. Feels like the team is actively avoiding passing to Allen right now
  4. Banton missing a bunny and McGowens throwing it away. Two wasted opportunities
  5. Time to see if we can answer back
  6. Two very different games based on whether or not Dickinson is on the court
  7. That outlet by Lakes was a heady play
  8. I like this zone we're playing so maybe we don't burn out in the second half
  9. Michigan Info Head Coach: Juwan HowardLocation: Ann Arbor, MIConference: B1GNickname: Wolverines Shirt not to wear: Yellow, Blue, Nike Line: Michigan by 8.5 Typical Rotation Depth: 8 KenPom rank: 16 Roster Players to watch: Hunter Dickenson The freshman 7'1" 255# big man is currently leading the team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. Nebraska loves to double team a dominant post player and we'll see if this flusters Dickerson. Currently shooting 73.1% from 2. Players to watch: Chaundee Brown The Wake Forest transfer has been an aggressive scorer off the bench like Kobe Webster for Nebraska. At 6'5" he gives the Wolverines more length at the 2. Roster points 3 12 Mike Smith 5-11 185 Sr 55 Eli Brooks 6-1 185 Sr 2 Isaiah Livers 6-7 230 Sr 21 Franz Wagner 6-9 220 So 1 Hunter Dickinson 7-1 255 Fr 11.3 Senior Center Austin Davis was starting over Dickinson until he went down with a foot injury. Seems unlikely to play in this game PG Mike Smith is a transfer from Columbia University. One of the few Wolverines not lighting it up from outside but knows how to get the ball to Dickinson Eli Brooks is a secondary ball handler and has been a pest defensively Livers remains one of the best shooters in the country and seems poised to burn a Nebraska team that will be focusing on Dickinson Most of the press coming out of Michigan has been about the decrease in scoring from Franz Wagner. While Wagner has shot the ball less this season, his assist and rebounding rates have increased. F/C Brandon Johns and his outside shooting allows Michigan to play 5 out when Dickinson comes out 6'7" wing Terrance Williams is depth at the 3 or 4 The Skinny: People seem bullish on Nebraska in this game at home on Christmas Day against a Michigan team that hasn't played in 12 days and seems semi-enthusiastic to be playing on a holiday. In some ways this Wolverine team is like Wisconsin in that their defense want to run you off the 3pt line towards a shot blocker. Michigan players a lot of man so it will be interesting to see if they throw a small guard or a forward at Dalano Banton and how he reacts. The Huskers tend to start most every game on fire, guarding like they have 6 men on the court which is how you can get away with sending a couple of guys at Dickinson. However, Nebraska just can't keep it up all game and it's starting to become a theme where their opponent uses big 2nd half runs to win games. Maybe that first road game where the Wolverines have to use an Adidas ball will be enough to keep them below their average from outside. Nebraska was a few bunnies and FTs away from making that game vs Wisconsin interesting. Nebraska, as a team who can't seem to close out anyone, needs a team willing to beat itself. While this is a Michigan team with a lot of experience and talent, it's a team that has looked pedestrian at points playing on the road for the first time. A Nebraska win on Christmas vs Michigan would be quite the feat. Prediction: Michigan 77 - Nebraska 71

  11. Feels like Banton is coachable just based on his 3pt shot attempts. It's just not his strength compared to everything else he does. That second game vs Nevada he hit a couple in a row and then just starts jacking them, putting up 11 in that game. He hasn't shot more than 5 since; taking 3-6 keeps the defense honest to open up his driving.
  12. Hoiberg constantly gets asked about this and almost always has the same things to say....they practice them, they run less if they make them, etc
  13. John Beilein very much made this work
  14. If you sort of combine these together HCFH's Iowa St teams shot in the neighborhood of 36% from three and 3 of his 5 teams had future NBA draft picks taking the most shots. (Royce White-1, Georges Niang-2). The shooting just hasn't been there for us and Teddy is probably a G-League guy at best. Ideally Banton should be first or a close 2nd in usage but no idea if that would result in us being better or worse.
  15. O I RWAN, I RWAN so far away
  16. Us dropping after beating Doane was more along the lines of that game not moving us either way and other teams passing us up.
  17. Seemed like a game plan and Wisconsin roster sort of issue though it was surprising he didn't get some 'let's see what happens' minutes. Against Michigan and their traditional centers I'd think that 5-10 minutes seems plausible
  18. Post Game presser Didn't mention Webster. Hoiberg did mention that he thought "Teddy is falling off the line a little bit instead of finishing his shot" in regards to FTs.
  19. Notes from UNL*-Wisconsin leads the all-time series, 19-14 after tonight’s win.*-NU is now 0-2 against ranked teams this season with both being top-10 teams*-Nebraska used its second different starting lineup of the season, as Yvan Ouedraogo replaced Thorir Thorbjararson in the starting lineup. The Huskers used the same starting five in each of the first seven contests.*-Dalano Banton (15) and Teddy Allen both reached double figures in all eight games this season. Banton also led NU with eight rebounds and four assists*-Nebraska had nine turnovers, the fifth time in eight games NU has had 10 or less turnovers. NU forced Wisconsin into 11 turnovers, well above its season average.*-Nebraska held Wisconsin to 25 first-half points, NU’s best defensive first half of the season (26 vs. Doane). It is the fourth time in eight games NU has held an opponent under 30 first-half points. It is the lowest first half by a Husker defense since holding Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to 21 first-half points on Dec. 29, 2019.*-Nebraska led at the U-16 Media timeout for the sixth time in eight games.*-Lat Mayen set a career high with three blocked shots, as his previous high was one on six occasions.*-Nebraska has now lost 10 straight against ranked teams dating back to the 2018-19 season.
  20. I haven't had time to watch any of the post game stuff but did anyone ask why Webster only played 14 minutes? I'd assume it was about us playing well defensively and us wanting to throw length at Wisconsin.
