uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 14; ed 20 - vs. Wisconsin

With they way he's been shooting lately and the way he dribbles, we should look to get him a few more 3pt shots per game. -

Notes from UNL Bryce McGowens scored a game-high 23 points, including 17 in the second half. McGowens posted his team-leading sixth 20-point game of the season, tying Jerry Fort (1972-73) for the second-most 20-point games by a freshman in school history. It marked the 12th 20-point game by a Husker in 2021-22. Lat Mayen had a season-high 11 points, marking his first game in double figures this season and his 12th double-figure scoring game in his Husker career. Alonzo Verge Jr. had 11 points, his team-leading 16th game in double figures this season. Derrick Walker tied his season high with four assists, as he also had four against NC State and Auburn Trey McGowens made his first start since Nov. 16 against Creighton Nebraska was 14-of-17 from the free throw line, as the Huskers’ 82.4 percentage from the charity stripe marked its second-highest percentage of the season. NU has shot better than 80 percent from the free throw line in back-to-back games, as the Huskers are 31-of-38 (81.6 percent) in their past two games with two of their top three percentages of the season. The Huskers had an 11-0 run in the second half to cut the Badger lead from 18 down to seven. The McGowens brothers had all 11 points in the run, with Bryce scoring eight points and Trey adding three points. During the run, the Huskers held Wisconsin without a field goal for a 6:22 stretch. Nebraska held Wisconsin to 36.8 percent shooting in the game, the Badgers’ fourth-lowest mark of the season and worst mark since Dec. 11. The Badgers had shot at least 41 percent from the field in eight consecutive games entering tonight. -
Shut Up Sipple! - Why Fred Should have at least 5 years

Asking because I'm curious: Is there another school that has just one guy who does all the recruiting? -
Nationally people don't consider Fred on the hot seat because no one thinks we're paying out 18.5 M. https://www.coachesdatabase.com/hot-seat-report/

If one of the problem with your 18.5 million dollar coach is that he can't win without certain types of players you have some options Fire the 18.5 million dollar coach Get rid of the guy who has complete control over who the coach gets to approve Do nothing and hope this is the year it all comes together It's real easy to blame Matt A. -
I'm vaxed and boosted, it's been a cold for me. Hoping it clears up for Saturday's game.

We're at 30% 3pt shooting for the first time this season. Lat is 7/13 over his last 4 games -

They went 15/46 inside the arc. We actually had a slightly better eFG% than they did. The turnovers and FTs were pretty similar. 40 ef% on 13 shots is about 5/13 or 10 points. We lost by 8. -

13 offensive rebounds were the deal breaker tonight. Everything else essentially equaled out -
it's been pretty mild

That was amazing watching Derrick Walker posting up Davison for 5 seconds, being disgusted that Bryce doesn't see him, leaving, and then Bryce just hits a 3. -

Wisconsin 74 - Nebraska 67 9 -
Wisconsin Info Head Coach: Greg Gard Location: Madison, WI Conference: B1G Nickname: Badgers Mascot: Bucky Badger Line: Wisconsin by 7.5 Rotation Depth: 8+ Last Game: Loss vs Michigan St KenPom: 26 Other: Forward Tyler Wahl is likely out for this one with an ankle injury This game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 25th 2022 but Nebraska had covid issues where they wouldn't have had enough players without pushing it two days later. Players who had covid might have to wear masks which may or may not be pointless but certainly beats last year's scenario of not playing for an entire month. Player to watch: Johnny Davis Davis was decent as a freshman but has become a star in his sophomore year. He's currently top 5 in D-1 in scoring and has become a projected lottery pick in this year's draft. Player to watch: Brad Davison Everyone's least favorite Badger is back for a 5th year. With Wahl probably out of this game, it's Davison and Davis as Wisconsin's two big 3pt shooting threats on a team that otherwise is pretty pedestrian from outside. The Skinny: Short and sweet here: Nebraska needs to get out to a double digit lead in this one if they want to win as Wisconsin is too good and too disciplined to give this one away in front of what should be a small crowd. The keys will be to keep the Badgers off the FT line and to keep committed to working the ball into Walker. Prediction: Wisconsin 74 - Nebraska 67

need to build a double digit lead in this one and hold on. Doesn't seem like there is anyway they can go punch for punch with this team in the last 8 mintues -
What particular good will for a guy who could use some good will comes from telling the people who read the local paper that it doesn't matter if you get local kids when anyone know that this does matter to many locals.
