Welp...the 1st 4 minutes were pretty good. -

Not really helpful when Roby gets absolutely mugged at the top of the key. No call. My goodness, officiating makes watching basketball a real chore anymore. -

Agree. I was one starting to think they were in an unrecoverable spin downward and was figuring the team would start to quit. So far, I have no problem admitting I was wrong. -

At this point, I'm starting to feel really bad for Glynn Watson. Kid just can't get anything to drop for him. -

Like Roby's aggressive scoring approach so far. It's what he needs to be doing every time he's on the court. -
Fair enough. I don’t have the chance to converse with many fans in person so I follow as much as I can via the avenues available to me. Twitter is certainly full of the extremes on both sides, but I do think it can provide the pulse when taken in the aggregate.

I spend a lot of time on Twitter - if you search and follow the #Nebrasketball tag, there is a lot of “for” and a lot of “against”. There isn’t a lot of middle ground being taken right now. I’ve seen it on this board as well, but perhaps to a lesser degree. Sure things can change based on how this season ends. But as it stands now, a line has been drawn in the fan base. It doesn’t matter the reasons (attitude, behavior or lack of success). Based on what I see and read, there is a significant split today.

Man, I am so frustrated with how this entire thing is playing out and it is starting to look eerily similar to how the Pelini era ended. (Apologies to all for the football analogy). At this point, everyone is taking a side and it won’t matter what happens. If Tim is let go, there will be a significant portion of the fan base who will be very vocal in their opposition. If he stays, the other side will be just as vocal. And there is no prodigal son out there who can return home and unite everyone toward a common vision. The fracture is real. Solving that issue will be Moos’ biggest challenge at NU.

uneblinstu's post game chatter: Vol 11; ed 22- Illinois

I had this thought last night and this thread brought it to mind again. As we've noted, our 3-point shooting is dreadful. But we refuse to take anything other than a 3 or something at the rim. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Miles spend a lot of time telling us that this year would be different, this team would be different because he WANTED them to get the 3 up as often as possible rather than his "love the rim, like the 3" philosophy of years past? -

People can hate on fans for not sticking with it & supporting the team. I get it. But I also understand the other side - an emotional investment in a team has a major downside if said team is really bad. If you have to step away to maintain your sanity, do it. I’m teetering there myself right now. -

I'm a little weird but I usually will watch the game and keep score. Nothing exotic but points & fouls mostly. The past 3 games, I've been giving up earlier and earlier. I just shut it down on this one. -

I'm sorry. I hate to say it but I see awful body language to go along with the terrible basketball. The coaching staff has lost this team. -
No expectations, this is Nebrasketball
demone replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I have been reading the posts in this thread with a lot of interest and wasn't quite sure I could add anything to the discussion but... One of the greatest challenges of the human experience is that we have the ability to assign meaning to things. In other words, we can see an event and interpret a meaning either through the event itself or the expectation of what may happen in the future. I suppose forums like HHC wouldn't exist otherwise. I mean, you can only discuss the actual game for so long, right? I'm not sure what will happen in the future. I can say this team is currently not well-coached and to be honest, I think most of us vastly overrated the quality of the players. I include myself in that as much as anyone. I hear a lot of talk about "talent" but I'm not so sure a talent discussion for NU basketball isn't a relative thing. Yes, we probably have better basketball players in our starting rotation than we've had in a very long time...but in the context of competition, is the team really that talented? -

I find the whole situation bizarre at best and truly disgusting at worst. Wait, can it be both at the same time? Either there are some really awful people with a monster axe to grind if this was invented from nowhere -OR- there actually is something behind the rumors and it's just a matter of time before it ends harshly. Regardless, this athletic department has got to find a way to start winning across multiple programs quickly - it is the only way to shut down the drama seekers.
