  1. Well that answers that question! Awesome. Also, good point Kamdyman about Matt. This should make it a little easier for Matt with recruiting. Really like this rule.
  2. With Doc taking on a new role, who is going to take the lead for coaching up the defense? Is it Hoiberg with major input from Gates or perhaps Gates just takes Doc's role? I know Gates bio indicates he works with guards and I think Loesner does as well. Does that mean Gates and Loesner do guards&wings and Matt&Hoiberg coach up bigs when they break into groups? Curious as to how coaching duties will be structured.
  3. I am aware of that, it's why I posted the comment. My comment was stated poorly. I will try again. However this ends up, I hope the Big 12 sticks it to Texas and OU. I do appreciate your information from the track coach. If the Big 12 lets them off the hook and doesn't make it as painful as possible, then the Big 12 deserves what it gets, but you can also say having 2 lame ducks in a conference for a number of years would be damaging to the big 12 as a league itself, kind of like cutting your nose off to spite your face. Since we are not big12 anymore, I say make it messy.
  4. I hope what the B12 does, they stick it too UT & OU.
  5. Didn't know that but I shouldn't be surprised as Wilhelm strikes me as a hard worker. With Wil and Lat in that 5 out should work well.
  6. I'm think the 3rd option at the 5 would be Lat. They would then run a 5 out offense. I am guessing the freshmen named above need to get stronger before playing the 5? I want to see how Wil does as a stretch 4 to start. I think Kojenets will redshirt?
  7. Wow, never expected to hear this. Probably spillover from the east part of the state. No wonder the west wants to become Idaho. Thanks for the enlightening me as I always wondered if Spokane would be a good place to live. 11. IMHO, Texas and OU aren't leaving because they fear an unstable conference or that they won't be able to find a home. The motivation is purely about money and being viewed in prime time. I think ESPN also wants to get out of that LHN deal. I wouldn't mind if all teams aligned against the SEC & ESPN.

It's not smart and clearly it's a pattern.
  14. Copeland will earn a good living playing bball. Would have really thrived in the Hoiberg system, not that he didn't do well as it was.
  15. That struck me too. Can't help but think about James Palmer who does great in the Big ten but goes undrafted. I guess it's all about ceilings? Not sure. Very very happy for Banton going to home town. And like others have suggested this is good for Nebraska as it helps cement Hoiberg&staff rep as NBA developers. Congrats Delano!
  16. Sounds like tortious interference is applicable per a lawyers breakdown... https://cyclonefanatic.com/2021/07/jordan-breaking-down-the-big-12s-cease-and-desist-to-espn/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  17. Fred has a good group of people working with him. Each has their strengths, one of Loenser's strengths is player development. Glad to have him on board.
  18. ESPN is the tail wagging the dog. They have too much influence. If my streaming subscription rates go up in the future to accommodate high contracts for a reconfigured SEC league, I'd drop it instantly and just listen on the radio. Watch Nebraska reruns later. They need a la carte. I'd don't care about other leagues.

Isn't that tampering or something? I did a search and maybe it's this..... Tortious interference.... You can be liable if you help someone breach a contract. Can someone with a legal background comment?
  20. The 20 team pod from coast to coast that throwback suggested is an intriguing idea. Getting California Tv's and Arizona tv's would really add to the footprint. It's something to think about.
  21. Now that shows some intent/threat. Going to be fun playing in that league over the next 4 years. Nut cracking plays and who knows what else.
  22. I appreciate your sarcasm. I remember Tom saying this is a decision where you have to envision what things will be like 30 years down the road. They thought this would happen again. They made a good call. Isn't it amazing that every time the big12 gets together these rumors start up about conference realignment? Half the time they drum up rumors that Nebraska wants to be back in the big 12. I am so glad we are out of that mess. This years rumor may be in part a ploy from OU and Texas to get a better tv time slots? Sounds like OU is tired of early games. (I like early games, but then I am old) I'd hate being in the Pac10. Of course that type of rumor may backfire and have a Nebraska effect where other schools start looking around. Not sure how that would work out though. Also, the other 8 may now end up ganging up on the big 2. I could see that happening. Also wonder how NIL is playing into this. Oh and how I hate that the LHN is being added to some packages. This is why I want a la carte.
  23. I am sure A&M is thrilled with this idea.
  24. Why? Well from my perspective after 4 years of college, I was tired of college. I was ready to move on and get to work at the end. Now if you have a goal to get a master's that's different&make sense so I get it. I didn't have that motivation. My only motivation was one last semester of cheap tickets, wrap up a few odds&ends and collect a piece of paper. Back to Ramel...I think he's a great addition.
  25. Perhaps Walker slides out to the 4 spot? It's an interesting situation. Glad to have Lloyd Jr. part of the team, he will fit in well in Hoiberg's offense and could guard a 2 or 3.
