  1. I think you’re conflating two personality types - divas/prima donnas and rough/tough to coach - kids. Williams strikes me as the former. Hoiberg and co seem to be very willing to take troubled kids, or guys who’ve struggled to make good choices at other points, or guys who are going to require a lot of structure and support. He hasn’t shown to me he has any interest in taking “divas.” Also, why didn’t he sign in November? If, as you’re saying, Hoiberg will recruit these guys 24/7 if we know they’ll be difference makers - then I’d say that answers the question you posed. We didn’t feel he was worth what he was asking for, not a difference maker, and/or not a good fit. But who knows? Certainly not myself.
  2. This is all laughable. He had the opportunity to sign in November and chose not to. Lol. Cmon you guys are all smarter than this and know dudes like this. Type of guy who wants everyone else to look like the bad guy and can’t take ownership. You all know this dude/kid.
  3. As of a few years ago, Randy Edwards probably could have still strapped them on a played anyone/anywhere. Ageless athlete.
  4. Saw some highlights of that! Figured there was a chance of them getting upset a couple times this year - they’re not a “team” yet. They’re kinda victims of “too many tools can’t choose which one to use” issue right now.
  5. The way I try to think about this is what options do any of these guys have. Basically, these guys would have to masochists to transfer at this point: Mack* Banton Walker Stevenson *I mean, why at this point? He's already on track for super-star status here. It would have to be a disciplinary reason he's gone at this point. He's trending towards NBA after his junior year. Not going to happen at the end of this year, but if we're good next year - it could. These guys could grad transfer if their credits/grades are in order: Burke Thorir But I would highly doubt either would. Thorir would basically have to be forced out at this point, as in coaches decision. And Burke has become the backbone of what we've done here to start off conference play. As a senior, he'd be a captain and leader - really can't see him transfer. So that is 6 guys I still definitely see on the team next year. These guys could transfer in a normal manner: Walk-ons Cross Arop Green
  6. I am.... but with reservations. Haven’t been jacked to see the choices he’s made post-grad. The potential story out of Wichita State is ugly (admittedly the woman’s story has changed, so who knows). I’ve also heard that Huggins can put up with quite a bit and deals with these type of young men a lot, to hear he couldn’t make it work is..... worrisome. He can play. And he’s a good kid with a good heart. Rough life and I feel for him. I truly hope he turns it around and I believe he can. But I’m also a teacher of emotional/behavioral disorder kids (I have kids who are Boystown type), and I’ve heard, “I’ve learned my lesson and I’ve changed,” a lot. And, well, you can guess what that batting % is. But Teddy owes me or us nothing, and he has nothing to prove to us. Only to himself and the people close to him that care and support him. We’re just dudes on message boards! So I’m hoping for the best, and truly want him to succeed. Hope this turns out to be a perfect fit for him. I enjoy watching him play. Wears his heart on his sleeve - will not be a guy other teams fans enjoy.
  7. Woah woah, seriously? I was there and didn’t even think he was playing hard, and he had 34?!?!? Ha. Nice.
  8. They’re damned if they do, damned if they don’t. But they make these early games so ugly and choppy as they try to adjust and emphasize the new rules or whatever. Ugly ugly ugly games
  9. I was highly impressed by him last night.
  10. I see nothing has changed.
  11. I was there. Was pretty awesome. Sallis is, really good, as the kids would say.
  12. Had the pleasure of watching our fourth in-state Division 1 basketball team, Millard North, play last night. Just wanted to share a few thoughts. 1. How can AAU ever take that over? I've spent a lot of time in the AAU circuit and in High School basketball. I will forever be flabbergasted that AAU has taken any hold in our society. How these guys could put in their twitter bios, "OSA 17u Family for Life" in front of their own High School team is simply amazing to me. There's like 20 people watching your AAU game. No one cares, it doesn't matter, no one knows who even won. Now get off my lawn. 2. That Millard North team has to be one of the most talented teams in Nebraska HS history. I imagine every player in their top 5 will play division one basketball. They're not the best team ever - that goes to the Omaha Central boys their senior year of the 4 year run. Those gentlemen were vicious dogs who came out of the womb playing with each other. But this North team has 3 power 5 players on it at a minimum, and a couple slightly lower level guys. 3. Did we go after Max Murrell at all? If so, bummer he got away. If not, why not? 4. I hope that Hunter Sallis is really a momma's boy and family man, because if he's not, we're not going to get him. That's a UNC/Duke/Kentucky ---> NBA kid. He's not even playing that hard right now and can get 20 by waking up. I'm not sure if he's a point guard, combo guard, or a strict shooting guard. Also, my wife really liked his shoes and thought he'd make a pretty girl. That's up to you to determine if that expert scouting advice is relevant. 5. Jasen Green is a perfect position-less player for Hoiberg's system. I see why we offered him so early. He's got some serious potential my friends. 6. Good to see high school referees have still found their way to over-officiate the game and make them choppy foul fests. 7. The little "shooting a bow and arrow," or "playing the air guitar," after every three you make, and finding some camera to flex into after every lay-up - is so cheesy and contrived. I love raw-emotion, and yes the game is absolutely supposed to be fun. But c'mon, these are planned and unauthentic. Now, as I said in the opening, get off my lawn.
  13. Obviously like this kid a lot, and feel his skills would be a massive addition to our team. Character wise.... well.... the flags are there, and they're kinda loud. But hey - lot of great teams had some guys who coulda gone either way. All depends on what the general make-up is of your team and if you can withstand it. It's clear Cam Mack has struggled thus far with following some rules, and that can cause a lot of stress to a team and ruin your team chemistry. But it all depends on what is expected and accepted. I've also heard a lot of good things about Teddy Allen as a person. So it's probably all about fit at this point.
  14. So is this her real account or not? What did we learn here?
  15. Interesting thesis. Hehe
  16. Um..... Yeah, I totally forgot about this game this weekend until you said something. Wow. They have a really good starting 5 - but foul trouble starts and we might have an open window in this game.
  17. I don't think it's possible to be as average as I am at this. Every year, so bad.
