  1. Well, for what it's worth, Bill is wrong. Basketball is not two years away. For next year to be ugly and not competitive, something seriously went wrong. We will have the pieces together next year to form a full, competitive team. I am not guaranteeing an NCAA tourney bid - but next year will not be a wasted year. They will have the pieces. And a lot of these guys have been in the program at least, and many have game experience.
  2. Those young men should be embarrassed. And I know a lot of you will take offense to that - but they should. I hope it fuels them and doesn’t break them. But they should be hurt and embarrassed after that.
  3. Pure mental weakness on our FTs. This is embarrassing for college athletes.
  4. Here we F-in go baby. The battle of the bads. The clash of the losers. NU stench vs. NU stank. NU_Red = 69 NU_Purple = 42.........0
  5. 10/4 good buddy. Spot on.
  6. @royalfan Looks like you are right. Thanks for those numbers Matt.
  7. As far as, is this his "consistent model?" Without knowing the exact details, I've always got more of the impression that at Iowa State, Hoiberg only did that massive overhaul in his first year, but eventually worked towards a relatively consistent roster.
  8. I just feel like we're bringing in a lot of guys who expect to play early, and have guys on the bench who will immediately take other's spots. There's going to be some unhappy guys, imo.
  9. I'm not sure that's true for every year while at Iowa State. It's what he does in the first year, but then sprinkles in others. I'm getting a hunch we're gonna have a big flip again this year. That's just my opinion. @hhcmatt can we get an answer here?
  10. Aside from needing to learn perimeter offensive skills - I've been almost more disappointed in his perimeter defensive skills. He is not anticipating the driver's first step very well. Is not ready to drop step and cut off, feet are not very active yet. He's been blown by, by a couple lumbering bigs on the perimeter - which I did not expect.
  11. So does everyone. At some point the things you do to win at all costs backfire. You have to start finding consistency (and that consistency can't be consistent chaos) and cohesion at some point.
  12. It's becoming more and more clear that we will not even remotely have the same team next year, and that we will see some pretty significant attrition this offseason. Hopefully at some point in the Hoiberg era we find a happy medium. As much as I like being ruthless and always trying to find the best players - I also like consistency and development.
  13. HB - I am with you. I am amazed at how encouraged I am with these guys and coaching stuff, during a 7-20 season. I see how it all works when the right guys with the right experience are here. And simply, the way FH and staff have been able to get these guys into games is simply amazing.
  14. God this season needs to end soon. Nonetheless, I’m very proud of the work these boys are putting in.
  15. I think my score needs to be thrown out because CM was gone. Clearly we would have won by 18 if we had him.
  16. Cam Mack is out.... eh? welp I tried to be different
  17. Twitter was a little hot last night. Abdelmassih even had to clap back a bit... Some rumblings in the crowd also. And last, my mom sent me a very angry text. That means something.
  18. Fellas, I tried. I tried to tell you. I said temper your expectations. I told people in person this was going to be a bad team. I received death threats, my children were banished from their school, bricks were thrown through my windows, I lost my job, and someone killed my dog. MY DOG! .....Ok none of that happened.... but I did receive some annoying messages, tweets, social media messages, texts, etc... And I was laughed at in person by my buddies who I told my initial thoughts on this season. "It's Fred friction Hoiberg bro!!!" "Cam Mack is the #1 Juco kid in the nation!" "Jervay Green averaged 20+!" "Kavas is a 1000 point scorer!" "Cheatham was a 4-star!" "You're an idiot and your wife thinks you're an ineffective man!" etc... etc... etc.... Anyways, chill out. I saw from the first time I watched this team scrimmage that there were going to be some serious issues with this team, especially during B1G play. Too skinny. Short. In-experienced. A couple of the players were not as billed. 2 of the 3 best players were sitting on the bench redshirting along with the most effective big (who's also the biggest). But again, chill out. I have seen more this year to be excited about from a coaching stand point than I can ever remember as a Nebrasketball fan. Do you guys realize what kind of accomplishment it is that Coach Hoiberg has even managed to be in some games that we've been in? His 5-out style puts dudes on ice-skates and forces your hand from a line-up perspective. Have I had some huge disagreements with our defensive philosophy at times? Absolutely. But they're not wrong in what they do, it's all sound reasoning, I just disagree. If we're able to keep Coach Hoiberg around, and these guys (recruits included) all stay around - there's some special stuff brewing in Lincoln. The name, and the stigma it caries, on the front of our jersey will be the only thing stopping us from success. So, chill out - GREAT things are coming. Have some patience.
  19. Brother Amber is the color of my energy and I’ve been Down with 311 for a long time.
  20. I’d trade almost anyone on our roster for him.
  21. Apparently done for the season with a hand injury. Very disappointing and I feel for the guy. When it happened, he did everything to stay in the game, had to be convinced to come out. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to the program, MK. Too bad this year didn’t workout like you imagined, but we are grateful for your contribution!
