  1. Player that fits Tim Miles' MO pretty well... 6'6"-6'8" guys who are versatile, skilled, fundamental. Doesn't look to have much bounce, but seems smooth and relatively long.
  2. Yeah I was kidding, sorry my jokes don't travel well, especially online
  3. Not any more she was put on Scholls when the page girl leftSent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Emily Wood was a walk-on.... it was a typo, right? right?
  4. Emily Wood is a walk-on.
  5. If it's wrong to prohibit players from dating each other, then why would it be wrong for a coach to date a player? Isn't that discrimination too? Oh Norm....
  6. I can 100% confirm, and wholeheartedly assure the board that Tyler Summit will not be the head coach of Nebraska Women's Basketball next year.
  7. I don't understand why you guys are so worried about what position guys are. You take good players if they want to come. We're working hard to get a big man, we'll either get one or we won't - still have to have quality skill position guys to score the basketball.
  8. Jan is a high character individual and her comments should not be taken lightly. But so are the other people involved in this situation. Very tough. Don't envy anyone involved (well, except for the next coach that's going to walk into a new paycheck, decked out office and facilities, and a brand new arena, with an all-American).
  9. Incorrect. Before Jan the operations director was Angela Timmons Kiffin and before her was Aubrey Eblin.Edit: I'm not implying they may have complaints, just noting that your facts are wrong. According to the website none of those people are listed that way on the Husker.com roster. So if that's what role they were, that's fine. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=121699&SPID=25&SPSID=29 I got ya...I was just going off of these http://www.huskers.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&SPID=25&SPSID=32&KEY=&Q_SEASON=2005 Although it's looking as if I was accidentally right anyways.
  10. I'm just going to throw this out there about coaching changes and resignations/firings/players. I've been a part of a coaching change where the two best players had a meeting with the AD where they said they probably weren't coming back if the current coach was retained. Then when the coach was fired/retained, they commented in the paper they had no idea what was going on, they loved their coach, and couldn't see themselves playing for anyone else. They stayed around the next year and played for the new coach. I remember accidentally over hearing them talking in the locker room about how they missed something the old coach used to do... I had to bite my tongue and walk away. People save face in the media... And kids are kids.

  12. Probably one of the best there is out there from an X's and O's, basketball teaching perspective. Not sure why he'd leave Washington
  13. Thought it was fairly humorous that Rosenthal reports that "a former director of operations" is his source for some of the information about the lying she was asked to do, and some forms of discrimination... There's literally only one other director of operations than the current one (Finch) - Jan Bethae, who basically had been there since 09-10, and no one else has ever held that title before her. edit: wrong date
  14. Yep. I get that. Was more talking about during the flow of the game and ending runs. Lots of coaches (for reasons of pride), don't want to "put a name on a run" by calling a timeout. Meaning, after a team goes on a big 8-0 run, when you call that timeout, the crowd is going to go wild, their bench will go wild, etc... So lots of coaches want to call that time out after their team scored so that it takes the wind out of their sails a bit. But that's my point, the bucket you just scored effectively ended that run. If they go down and score right away again, the deficit is just back to where it was before - so maybe call one then.
  15. I'm going to need a basketball detox after that game..... (Huge Carolina fan) I'll be in my bed. If anyone hears tears it's just the allergies
  16. Coach - what are your thoughts on calling a timeout after your team gets a make, to end the run? It's never made sense to me, except for in late game situations. But I'm talking more when a coach wants to end a run, but wants to wait until his team scores to call it. That doesn't make any sense to me... From a mathematical perspective, if you've scored, you have lessened the deficit, so keep letting it go because the run is done. I just feel you have to call the timeout after they score to end the run.
  17. Are you watching the same game? Agreed. Can't catch a break
  18. This score doesn't denote position nor skill. If you had an 6' kid that scored a 1900 you can't play him at Center. This does tell me that Jacobson should be able to hang in the paint once he gets more experience and mass on him. If he can consistently hit an outside shot, he's going to be very good for us for the next 3 years. Agreed x10More important than his own development is the main thing that's out of his control - NU recruiting an actual defensive big to defend the paint. That way Jacobsen can play a Kevin Love type role for us as a stretch four.
  19. Man, I'm "why aren't we recruiting Nebraska guys!?!?!?" King of the board - but Criswell, out of high school, was noooo where near the player he became his last year of JUCO. I don't blame "us" for missing on him. Marty Levinson deserves a ton of credit for the player he turned Criswell into. And, TC deserves a ton of credit to be willing to work that hard.
  20. VU - 95 OU - 51 VU - 87 NU - 63 NU>OU, and should have clearly been in the final four to give Villanova a better game. #fact
  21. Hesitation and thinking are the two worst things someone can do on a basketball court. Young guys hesitate and think a lot. Can make one look very slow.
  22. Can this board be the good board that understands that a 33" two foot standing vertical is very good? Unlike the RSS where they can't read and don't understand testing.
  23. You're right tho, Norm. Gonna be a real long off season. We should make sure to fight, bicker, and argue as much as possible. That way we get it all out before the season starts.
  24. Seems a lot more mental. He shot all of 2 three pointers and shot 55% from the FT line. Not to be cruel but Nick won't get much better IMO. And without an outside shot he is relegated to hustle duty in the lane. He can play a few minutes but doubt he contributes anything but mop up duty with Roby & Horne coming in. I really don't want to speculate because I don't know the kid.... But the dude used to be lights out from 3pt, holds many records in Wisconsin. Line only moved back a foot, you have to place some blame on the staff for whatever has happened to his game. Right?
