Texas Tech (4-0) vs. Nebraska (4-0) Game Thread
B-town hoopsfan replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Hit a few threes and make your layups/free throws and we will pull this out. It’s definitely not gonna be pretty though. 60 points should win this ond -
On the bright side Texas tech probably can’t play any better then they did in the second half. Went like 16-19 from the field. Owens is gonna give us fits, wish we coulda realed him in as a grad transfer. This is is a better test than USC woulda been, they are talented but we woulda rolled them they don’t lock in on defense and settle a lot on offense. pumped for 8:30 tomorrow

Hope Palmer got the bad ones out tonight because he was not good on either side of the court. if this is what cope looks like w a healthy back wowzers. Nice to see roby get it going In the second half as well. Its nice to see the development of both nana and allen for those who think miles doesn’t develope guys. Nana is probably my favorite sker and should of been 5 for 5 from deep tonight. Main thing is both these guys are playing their roles to a tee right now i think I honesty feel better about our front court depth then I do our back court right now. Never thought I’d say that 2 weeks ago

40% from 3 with Palmer and roby going a combined 2-12....nice having 5 or 6 legit shooters on this team -

If we are gonna take 35 3 pointers they need to be good shots. This off the dribble stuff ain’t gonna cut it. Like what harris is doing on defense but boy does the offense bog down w him out there. The good: roby no fouls in 15 minutes. The bad: he’s not really doing anything its nice to see our defense traveled, real good energy on defense tonight -
Is it time to start Brady?

That sounds like more games where roby only plays 15 minutes -

He shot 67 percent last year while not great that’s respectable atleast. Definitely something he’s gotts get cleaned up though. You would like to see him somewhere in the 70s at the very least. Free throw shooting seems to be a strength under miles these last few years so i would expect it to be cleaned up once he gets on campus. -
For prep he plays mainly post against so so competition. On his AAU team he plays a lot of wing it sounds like and that’s what drew him all the offer this summer. Ideally for us he can hold his own at the 3 and 4. Probably not the 5. It sounded like he shot the 3 really well this summer so that’s encouraging

2019 PF Matthew Hurt -> Duke

It’s gotta be rough to be a Minnesota fan when you clearly have the instate talent to compete but you just can’t keep them instate -
Roby was a 4 star. Too 115 guy on rivals when we got him. Fairly amazing that our coaching staff didn’t notice his talent from the get go however he didn’t really fit into any position at that time
-
You are correct on nana, apologizes. It’s really all based on what service you use. I prefer to go by rivals however 24/7 ranks more guys so their service is probably a better way to gauge the guys we get.

The best big man in the miles era is gonna be Copeland IMO so yes if Brady gets to that level boy did we find a diamond in the rough -
It’s the 3rd game of the year. Is 39 minutes ideal? No but nothing to panic about. Ive seen a few comments about our bench. Is it a strength? Probably not but I would easily argue that it is and will be better than last years. Pretty happy with the game as a whole. Brady and tanner were excellent in there 20 plus minutes tonight with roby in foul trouble. The fouls might just be something that roby never quite gets under control. Was also happy to see the bench shorten too 8 guys in the second half. Amir kinda had the deer in the head lights look in the first half I thought. Thoughts on no Thor tonight? Matchup problem or something we will see often this year?
-
9–1 has gotta be the expectation after tonight. And that 1 is only there if roby doesn’t get his shit together. Also root for clemson. We want them undefeated for that matchup

Nana 4 star heiman high 3 star borchardt experienced senior. A lot of talent and a lot of experience here. Gonna be a real fun ride

Tonight is why this won’t happen, there will be a lot of nights this year when we are in foul trouble. Brady provides good depth off the bench and Allen is a dude and deserves to start at the two. -

Nana and Amir look lost on defense. Gotta stop Powell guys. Brady definitely holding his own is a plus. We are holding serve on the boards Would like to see alil more offense run but all and all good half -
Need to split the Clemson and Minnesota games at the very least. Minnesota didn’t look great vs Utah the other night, they have 3 or 4 freshman in the rotation.

2018 SG Karrington Davis - LOI
B-town hoopsfan replied to Huskerpapa's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Yeah. I’d say a reasonable goal for him next year would probably be to be the second wing off the bench so like the 8 or 9th guy in the rotation. Play 7-10 minutes a game hit open shots and play good defense. If his body can hold up through that then we should have a very use able contributor his final 3 years -
